4 days on. There must be a very good reason why the *most* Guardian-esque story you could possibly conceive (BBC sacking, racism, Israel, large payout) is not in fact being covered by.... the Guardian, literal house mag of the media industry 🤔
Likewise, the @guardian has forever been the go-to place for media industry news.
A story involving the BBC, a huge out-of-court settlement, Israel & antisemitism ticks every box for them.
But it’s nowhere to be seen.
Why the strange silence, @mediaguardian?

Can clearly see that Andrey attacked him first and tried to reach to his gun
🚨 TODAY: Settler-terrorists attacked Andrey, Jasper and me. This video shows the assault.
Andrey was severely beaten and lost consciousness several times in front of police. Despite this, he was denied hospital treatment. He was put in an ambulance—but instead of being taken to hospital, he was taken to a police station.
He is still there, arrested and being denied medical care.
Jasper and I were also beaten. Jasper was then pepper-sprayed and arrested.

The BBC called him a “Serbian man” with no further information
Reality was he was an Islamic terrorist that shouted Allahu Akbar and linked to the Islamic State.

🛑Does anyone still doubt that Qatar is a hostile state toward Israel?
Now there are serious allegations that substantial sums of money were funneled into attempts to interfere in Israel’s elections.
If proven, this would be an extraordinary assault on Israeli democracy and sovereignty.
How much more needs to come to light?

Nigeria and Jordan each receive nearly a billion dollars in foreign aid.
This week, dozens of Christians were beheaded in Nigeria, and Jordan leveled a Syrian village with fighter jets.
Where are all the “I only care about Israel because of my tax dollars” people?

It’s fascinating watching the penny drop with all these left wing parties, as they realise they’ve been infiltrated by extremist entryists but their own suicidal ideology won’t allow them to call it out.

While the Arab List - which is openly and proudly anti-Zionist - has suggested it would be prepared to be in a bloc with him, Eisenkot appears to be rejecting their overtures by explicitly saying he wants to form a Zionist government. He is also rejecting the ultra orthodox who are seen as anti-Zionist.
He hasn’t here rejected working with another Arab party, Ra’am.

"Why can't Palestinians vote in Israeli elections?"
Probably for the same reasons I can't vote in a Palestinian election.
Of course, neither the Gaza Strip or the West Bank have held elections for quite some time, but that's a decision made by Hamas and the PA, not Israel.

On the morning of October 26, 2024, a 39-year-old Orthodox Jewish man was walking to synagogue in Chicago’s West Rogers Park neighborhood when he was shot in the shoulder. The shooter was 22-year-old Sidi Mohamed Abdallahi, a Mauritanian national who had crossed the US southern border illegally near San Ysidro, California, in late March 2023 and was released into the country after screening.
Abdallahi followed the man and opened fire without warning. When police and paramedics arrived, he returned to the area and fired on them from multiple locations, striking an ambulance. Officers returned fire and wounded him. No officers or paramedics were injured. The victim was hospitalized and later released.
Surveillance footage captured Abdallahi shouting “Allahu Akbar” during the second phase of the attack. Police later recovered his phone, which contained more than 100 antisemitic and pro-Hamas images and videos. In the days before the shooting he had mapped multiple Chicago synagogues and Jewish schools, including one a block from the scene, and had searched for “Jewish Community Center” and a gun store.
Abdallahi was charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated discharge of a firearm, a hate crime, and terrorism under Illinois law. He was held at Cook County Jail.
On November 30, 2024, he was found unresponsive in his cell after an apparent suicide by hanging and later died.
The case was the first publicly charged terrorism offense on US soil involving a foreign national who had entered illegally across the southern border.

The U.S. is sending another Patriot air-defense system to Israel.
El-Sayed's ad wasn't complaining that bananas are expensive because Trump is sending Israel "bombs to kill Palestinian babies," it was complaining that Israel is protecting its babies.
The U.S. military is sending an additional Patriot air defense system to Israel from Texas to strengthen its missile defenses, according to flight tracking data and two U.S. officials with knowledge of the movement, according to a Wall Street Journal report.
The move is one of several signs of preparation, the Journal says, as the U.S. weighs a possible short and intense campaign against Iran after the November 3rd midterm elections. Iran has warned it would respond to any attack with strikes on economic and civilian targets across the region. The Journal reports Trump has not made a final decision whether to attack.
Patriot systems and their interceptors are in short supply. Axios reported earlier this month that the U.S. had sent two additional Patriot batteries to protect energy sites in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and had moved batteries and interceptors from other commands to the Middle East. The Journal reports the U.S. and its Gulf allies are scrambling to restock missile defenses strained by Iranian attacks.

Suspended sentence for Irish man who threatened to shoot Jewish woman in France
Patrick O’Brien, 60, from Ireland, has been issued a six-month suspended prison sentence in France after admitting to attempting to “justify crimes against humanity” and making death threats “aggravated by their antisemitic nature”.
The charges related to an incident which took place in August of this year in Avignon, France, footage of which showed an Australian Jewish couple accusing the Irish man of threatening to “put a bullet in” the head of the Jewish woman and saying “I’m sorry Hitler didn’t finish the job.”
Mr O’Brien appeared at Avignon Criminal Court, where he was found guilty and issued the sentence. He was also told to pay €500 to each of the Australians, and a further €300 to several Jewish humanitarian groups.

These comments are clueless. 12 out of the 19 seats that are going to Arab parties according to the latest count belong to a party that refuses to be part of any Israeli government. And the remaining 7 seats aren't enough for the opposition to reach a majority.

Actually that’s not true. It’s not true at all. Thousands of Gazans negotiated Gaza’s future on October 7. They all came out and voted for what future they wanted by murdering, raping, burning, butchering and kidnapping over a thousand Israelis. They then had a second round of negotiation for their future by holding the hostages they kidnapped for over two years. Not hours or days. Two damned years. That was Gaza showing the world what self determination looks like to Palestinians. They determined it all themselves. It was their choice.
Now the results of their negotiations are what you see. Everything they got was exactly what they themselves asked for. They started a war, again, and they lost.
So Abier, you all made a democratic choice which is your right. Now we make a democratic choice which is ours.
You played. You lost. Deal with it.
Lemme break it down for y’all.
A new Middle East order around Palestine, without the Palestinians.
Gulf royals, Trump’s son-in-law, mercenaries, billions in investment money, and Israel all playing their part in the same regional power game.
But here’s the bit that gets me as a Palestinian: everyone’s negotiating Israel’s security, Gulf interests and Washington’s ambitions. So who the hell is negotiating Palestinian rights and self determination? No one…
