When people call it a “revolution,” even a “leaderless” one, simply because an incumbent has lost an election and transferred power, this shows how far the concept of “revolution” has been inflated into meaninglessness, but also how deep the crisis of politics is. People distrust institutions so much that they do not expect them to work without at least some kind of “revolutionary” disruption.

Broke: parking mandates
Woke: Portico mandates
In 1288, Bologna’s municipal statutes required porticoes in new construction.
Incrementally, buildling by building, the city developed a legendary network of covered public walkways beneath privately owned buildings.
An American city could adapt this idea through a Portico Code that allows homes and businesses above covered sidewalks and secure permanent public passage with clear maintenance responsibilities.
Oklahoma and Miami, interestingly, also have useful precedents

It’s deeply disrespectful to us Brazilians, who spent 20 days mobilizing across the country, standing up to Big Tech and imperialist forces, to credit our victory as a nation to an American billionaire who said absolutely nothing about our elections. Delete this shit, @Variety.
