The discrepancy between benefits for Canada's retirees and young families merits concern. Federal parties MUST consider intergenerational fairness in any proposal to reform OAS in Canada. There are ways to improve it without burdening future generations. 🧵 #cdnpoli

I imagine that the people who think and say these kinds of things don’t understand the severity of the harm caused over multiple generations and that saying it today reignites the intergenerational pain of the Indian Residential School system.

Fun fact, I was the campaign manager for one of the two seats that did not go BC Liberal in 2001. #eastvan
Reminds me of the BC Liberal leadership approval vote on Gordon Campbell in 2003ish.
Friend beside me at the @colemancountry BBQ voted against Gord.
"He won 77 of 79 seats," I said, non-plussed.
"He should have won 79," replied my friend.

Credit where due: @BCFerries is having a much better year.
It’s not perfect, but the routine breakdowns, IT meltdowns, staffing cancellations of 2022 & 2023 aren’t a factor this summer (at least not yet).
Meanwhile, Washington State Ferries is having a brutal time.
