I've never felt the fear of god more than watching Microsoft explain why their AI data centres won't take all of the electricity, water, and jobs from their local communities.
I never thought Microsoft would have to explain something like that, but here we are.
Here's a sign of the times. When registering for the Microsoft Build conference, this drop down box used to give options like Developer, Engineering Manager, Exec. Now it's AI, AI, AI.

The creator of Vim, Bram Moolenaar, allegedly wrote the entire initial version of Vim using only a magnetized needle and a steady hand to directly manipulate bits on a hard drive. Thus, Vim is pure, made without using any other text editor.
