𝗜 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗮 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲. In 2023, I joined the Bar Council of Punjab & Haryana after spending 18 years in IT. No chamber. No family connections in the High Court. And no idea how a young advocate is supposed to build a practice while staying within the rules. 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗜’𝘃𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘁. I realised that the traditional chamber system isn't the only path into law. Young advocates can find opportunities in areas such as business notices, compliance, labour issues, cyber-fraud cases and other practical legal problems that people face every day. But there was another question: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀? I spent a lot of time reading Rule 36, court judgments and BCI directions instead of relying on the usual "this is how things are done" advice. And I documented what I learned. I wrote this book for the first-year advocate who doesn't have a mentor. Inside, I cover: • How to start earning within your first 90 days • What different opportunities can actually pay • How to find your first three clients within the professional rules • How to set your fees and invoice clients • A practical month-by-month roadmap for your first year 𝗡𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀. 𝗡𝗼 𝘃𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲 "𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲" 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲. 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱. The book is: 𝗡𝗢 𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗢𝗥 𝗥𝗘𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗗 How to Make Money as a Young Advocate Without Waiting 10 Years 𝗜𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆. If you're a young advocate coming back from court after a long day and wondering how you're going to build a practice, 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂. And if you're a senior who once had someone guide you, consider sharing it with a junior who may not have had that opportunity. Available on 𝗺𝘆 𝘄𝗲𝗯𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗼𝗻. 128 banks across western Japan went offline at the same time on Friday afternoon. These were not large commercial banks. These are Shinkin banks, local credit unions used by millions of ordinary people and small businesses. ATMs stopped. Branch counters stopped. Online banking stopped. Transfers stopped.

This is different from the Paraguay story from a few days ago. In Paraguay, Ueno Bank was actually seized by the central bank after real solvency problems, with pension money trapped and customers locked out for longer. That was a bank failure tied to related-party lending and political connections. This Japan incident was a temporary technical outage on a shared system. It was fixed the same day.

The bigger point: Modern banking is highly concentrated on shared technology. When one central system fails, hundreds of institutions and millions of customers can lose access at the same time, even if their individual bank is healthy and their money is safe. That’s the real lesson from Friday’s outage in Japan.

Paraguay’s biggest digital bank just collapsed, and it took the president down with it. Ueno Bank (ueno) was seized by the Central Bank this week after its solvency ratio crashed below half the legal minimum. Nearly 3 million people, roughly 60% of the country’s adult population , woke up locked out of their accounts.

Customer impact: Deposit insurance covers up to ~$38,000 per person. Authorities say this fully protects 97% of customers. An initial $1,700 payout is planned. Anything above the guarantee depends on asset recovery. The guaraní has already fallen 8–9%.

A fast-growing digital bank with deep political ties, related-party loans, and weak supervision froze the money of most adults in the country, trapped pension funds, triggered street protests, and forced the president to resign. This is what happens when political connections meet poor banking oversight.
