1/ The richest cohort of Americans isn't tech bros. It's car dealers, garage door companies, and beverage distributors. A thread.

Great news for the whole South Bend community: county commissioners just approved the sale of the historic Portage Manor to St. Thomas More Academy, a local Catholic classical school.
A historic building that once served disabled adults will continue its legacy of holistic human care and attention; an iconic South Bend landmark will be revitalized and maintained; the surrounding natural beauty will be stewarded and preserved; and future South Bend community leaders will be able to receive a humanistic, service-oriented education in these hallowed halls.
Win, win, win, win.

When I submitted my most recent book manuscript to a publisher, I included an attestation that it was written by me and only me, with no A.I. assistance of any kind. Sign of the times.

Earlier this year I had the great pleasure of interviewing philosopher James Otteson @jroii on Adam Smith, his thinking, why he's still our contemporary, and what he might think of the world today. Give it a watch/listen!

Extremely humbling to remember that college began for me forty years ago this week. I met @jroii, Liz Bardwell, and Mary Beth Myler--three amazing friends who changed my whole life.
In October, I met Kevin McCormick. Again, my life radically altered course.
Stunning. God bless, Notre Dame.

👏👏👏 “All @UChicagoSSD classes will transition to an “analog” approach for the upcoming academic year, restricting in-classroom technology use and banning AI-assisted writing and grading for students and professors.” chicagomaroon.com/53262/news…
Happy 250th birthday, America! Land of the free and home of the brave! 🇺🇸 Here’s to the next 250 years of freedom and prosperity!
Friendly reminder: tomorrow, we will not celebrate the 4th of July. We will celebrate Independence Day.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. 🇺🇸
Who could have guessed what would ensue? Man proposes, God disposes. But I wouldn’t trade our friendship anything, @bradleybirzer!

One of the best feelings as a professor comes when students leave class still animatedly arguing with each other about the ideas we discussed.
