On Jan 8, 1964, one of my favorite Texans, Lyndon Baines Johnson stepped into the halls of Congress to make his first annual address to the House & Congress as President, 100 days from being sworn in after the assassination of Pres Kennedy.

NEW from me: Dallas billionaire and GOP donor Kelcy Warren’s ranch was facing the prospect of enormous high-voltage transmission lines. Then the proposed route changed. Few other landowners have seen such relief.

After my story last week about TX Comptroller @DonHuffines withholding data on the school voucher program, he announced a new "transparency tool."
It will release more data than previously, but apparently won't include school-by-school or vendor-by-vendor spending info.

Hate to break this to you but being a kindergarten teacher is the definition of being a leader and public servant
Replying to @katy4congress
And yet you have never answered a single policy question with a straight answer.
If it wasn’t for millions of outside PAC dollars, your campaign would just be your art parties. We need leadership, not a kindergarten teacher.

It shows how quickly those anonymous strangers become our friends and family. Mass deportation isn't "us versus them." It's us versus us, and it's divisive and unnecessary. We can have a lawful, orderly immigration system without the chaos in the interior OR at the border
“Communities along the southern border turned against Joe Biden as crossings surged. Now they’re sour on Trump immigration round up neighbors.”
Weird and interesado: We hate open borders because anonymous strangers bad but don’t you dare deport them

It cannot be overstated how much red tape Republicans added to the process of getting Medicaid and SNAP.
Millions of people who literally qualify for these programs are being kicked off them, despite qualifying, because of all the red tape Grassley voted to add to them.

We are well aware of how a break action shotgun works.
Firearms safety still still says you never point a firearm, loaded or unloaded, at a target unless you intend to shoot/kill it.
Have a great day and rest of hunting season, Congressman!
Since some folks are confused, here’s a quick firearm PSA! As a combat veteran and lifelong outdoorsman, let me educate some of my friends on how a break-action shotgun actually works.

A Texas father who had lived in the U.S. for 25 years with no criminal record was finishing his night shift as an Uber driver when immigration agents detained him.
Without being able to speak to his lawyer or a judge, he was put on a plane and sent first to Ghana, a country where he had no ties. He was then sent to his home country, despite a determination by a U.S. immigration court judge that he could not be deported there due to likely persecution. cbsn.ws/3Ude66r
