#dkgreen #dkenergi

For to år siden fik vi alle sammen et wake up call. #SlavaUkraini #dkgreen #dkpol jyllands-posten.dk/debat/kro….

Both Spain and Portugal consuming more natural gas than before the invasion of Ukraine… The “Iberian model” still at work?
FEBRUARY GAS DEMAND [thx @McwilliamsBen]: - overall demand reduction subsided in February (only -11%) - 70% of countries covered save less than 15% - Power sector gas consumption higher than pre-crisis - ES+PT gas consumption above pre-crisis level bruegel.org/dataset/european…

Natural gas use in the EU’s power sector rose in 2022. But demand reductions in buildings & industry far outweighed this increase. These factors - along with mild weather this winter - contributed to a 13% drop in natural gas demand in a single year 👉 iea.li/3FBvYx0

There is a problem in Europe for countries which heavily subsidize hh natural gas prices and at the same time request hh to reduce their consumption, as seen in the graph below (from Bruegel). Better to protect vulnerable hh through a lump-sum subsidy.
