1/ there is this sense when you are young that your accomplishments need to be a list of things that seem impressive to others. A list of several items you did. This isn't actually right, so here is another suggestion.

The only real reason not to argue with anyone is that you don't believe THEY can change YOUR mind
Zero point in arguing. Arguing with people is low iq.

Intelligence is now easy to purchase, just as physical labor is mostly replaced for most folks. The only remaining scarcity is WILL TO ACT

A Microsoft AI scientist chose to live in a tiny room in San Francisco’s Chinatown for less than $1,000 a month. @annakook gives us a rare look inside a single-room occupancy building, where residents have private rooms but share kitchens and bathrooms.

Hitting a fastball is one of the hardest things to do in sports. It's too fast - like 400 milliseconds. Your conscious mind cannot possibly do it. So when batters hit the baseball, who is doing it? Answer: Their past self. The one that has done the reps. In the moment, the body is just showing up and turning their mind off, and letting the body do the rest.

This is being posted everywhere, with good reason, but the real thing he's expressing here is "I have done infinite reps before this." Do infinite reps. Yes, infinite.
No exaggeration, this guy might be the best interview in pro sports right now

Today, we're launching the ability to say yes to Muse at work. People are giving Muse access to their company's most sensitive data & systems. Yet companies have no way to control this access. Many are blocking it. Others have had Muse go rogue, leaking company data, sending unauthorized emails, and more. Runlayer provides hundreds of secured connectors for Muse, governed by deterministic policies & runtime security models that you can control. Runlayer also detects when Muse is being used within company systems without governance, and alerts you. Teams get access to the most powerful personal agent. Companies maintain security and control. Win win.

the degree to which you can make research easy with modern tools is just out of this world. AI obliterates how hard it is to come up with ideas for a startup. it is SO EASY to try, imagine, make, discard, that it completely removes the need to conceptualize an idea. the idea is now the easy part. it's also easy to come up with next steps. the missing part is only WILL. do you want it enough? that's something that is not going to be answered by any LLM and is not going to push you along every day. so your job is to get in the seat each day and progress as much as you can. IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW SLOW YOU GO SO LONG AS YOU DON'T STOP stuck? ask your local agent "what's next?" - great, now you're not stuck. keep moving forward. your next great business is ahead of you so long as you keep going.

I worked with Venky for a long time and throughout the ups and downs and even disagreements, he was truly a classy guy.
Every seed investment is an option bet. “You have to think about the venture portfolio as a bunch of options. Each seed investment is an option bet. You are buying an option to see if it is an outlier, and you want to have enough of those to make sure you have an outlier. When there is true quantitative evidence that it is going to be an outlier, then you position size up.” @venkyganesan How do seed funds play in a world where mega funds are totally price insensitive and “option bets” is the mindset for seed checks @infoarbitrage @chudson @hunterwalk @honam @dunkhippo33 @jasonlk

Stephen Harper on Alberta independence: "I spent a good part of my early political career involved in the debate over Quebec independence. That was driven by a large minority of the population who genuinely want a separate country, regardless of the cost. I do not believe the downsides of that experience are fully understood in Alberta. "Over two generations of Quebec politics were spent debating the goal of the separatists. Families were divided, and friends were lost. The more serious the challenge became, the worse the economic impact became. In the process, Montreal’s two-centuries’ long position as the commercial centre of Canada was permanently lost to Toronto."
