November 10, 12 & 13: The dates of my appeal trial at the BC Supreme Court.
I am appealing a ruling that found me guilty of "unprofessional conduct" for advocating for the rights of women and children in my off-duty time.
My regulator, the BC College of Nurses, investigated me at the behest of a cancellation mob after receiving complaints from members of the public I've never met. I have never had a patient complaint. I was dragged through years of disciplinary hearings, lasting longer than a murder trial. (My fight was made possible by @JCCFCanada and @LDBildy.)
After my guilty verdict, I was told I would face a 1 month suspension and had to pay $94,000 to the BCCNM. My employer of 13 years, Vancouver Coastal Health, fired me with no severance, and no way to even collect EI. I was a single mom with 2 young boys. The suspension and $94k was put on hold for the appeal. My name is blacklisted and I essentially was pushed out of the profession entirely.
I first noticed the rise of gender ideology a decade ago, and I was fascinated and repulsed that women were being told to shut up about their experiences to make way for people who identify as us. Then I came to understand that paediatric "gender affirming care" is a terrible medical scandal, probably worse than the lobotomy. I began to write about the topic and, with another BC woman, began to organize events to discuss gender ideology. We faced vicious threats, protests, and attempts to shut us down. Later, of course, I was involved in a billboard project that drew a lot of ire from trans activists.
Never could I have imagined that life would go in this direction: being smeared as a bigot across the country; losing my career and long-term financial stability; and spending 6+ years in a protracted legal battle.
I'm still fighting because I care about the truth, free speech (for all of us, but especially for regulated professionals, who don't deserve to be policed in their private lives and forced to go along with state orthodoxy), and women's rights. Please follow along for updates.
The new BC government could prevent this situation from repeating by following the lead of Alberta and restricting the power of professional regulators to punish professionals for off duty speech.

🚨A new peer-reviewed paper argues that some detransitioners may suffer from PTSD, with medical transition as the traumatic event. Their trauma is further compounded by moral injury—the damage from feeling betrayed by the doctors & institutions they trusted.

🚨A new peer-reviewed article by the Past President of @TheEndoSociety sharply criticizes the Endocrine Society & WPATH's gender dysphoria guidelines for minors. Dr. Santen notes that unmanaged conflicts of interest unduly shaped the recommendations for hormones and surgery. /1

In March of this year I had attended this gathering as a survivor at the River Cree in Enoch.
It was for the survivors of forced & coerced sterilization within residential schools & indian hospitals so 16 and under.
Once a child reach maturity (puberty) they were sent for checkups and procedures were done and them not know exactly what had happened.
Later in life they didnt know why they couldn't have children.
This happened to first nations peoples its our history and im a survivor myself and my reserve wants to provide gender affirming care to youths.
Have they (saddle lake) not learned from what has happened to us?
There are many of us, the genocided.
This thread from 2022 demolishes Meridithe McNamara's evidence before the Florida Board of Medicine.
1/ @JamieWhistle has responded to the embarrassingly bad article by Meredithe McNamara which was so fulsomely praised by @GuyattGH.

You don’t get to build a policy on a claim of certainty, get that claim FOIA’d down to a pamphlet, watch your own guideline body call itself “just an opinion” under oath, and then write a Viewpoint accusing the other side of confusing evidence with ethics. @GuyattGH
5/ The HHS Review does not say, as McNamara claims, that pediatric medical transition should be banned because of low certainty evidence.I described its reasoning in this thread. nitter.gq/justdad7/status/196549…
1/ In his embarrassing interview with Stella O'Malley and Mia Hughes, Gordon Guyatt repeated the claim that the Health and Human Services report on gender medicine used the McMaster reviews to justify the denial of care to transgender people. youtube.com/watch?v=SZNge7wC…
6/ I also discussed how Guyatt (and now McNamara) misconstrue the relationship between evidence and patient autonomy in an Substack from last year. justdad7180.substack.com/p/m…
