My experience with midwives makes me feel gutted that midwifery services are so limited in Nova Scotia.
Nova Scotia needs more midwives. But Nova Scotia also needs midwives in more spaces.

The midwifery team took care of me post partum. Midwives checked my C-section incision. Midwives made sure I was connected to bereavement services. Midwives said my baby's name. Midwives came to my home so I didn't have to sit in waiting rooms with newborns.

The ghoulish & depraved unresponse of Canada’s political class & media to #Israel’s now routine attacks on hospitals in #Gaza, indiscriminate slaughter of #Palestinian civilians-toddlers/teens/grandmothers- massacred & starved on an industrial scale, is a stain that won’t go away.

The fact that any politician, organization, faith leader, journalist or individual feels the need to defend this will haunt me for the rest of my days.
What's even more terrifying is that they think it's the "principled stance" to take - it really sends shivers down your spine.

File an employment standards complaint.
Uber Eats couriers are employees applying the normal employee status test.
These companies only exist because govt’s permit them to misclassify workers & ignore basic minimum standards.
Time for some basic common sense.

I worked, and processed vacation banks and payroll under this same union agreement.
You are eligible for 7 weeks vacation after 28 YEARS of uninterrupted employment. You start at 3 weeks.
Don't let a lobbyist convince you to hate regular workers. This is what they want.
Just learned that Canada Post employees get up to 7 weeks of vacation AND 13 personal days.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The missing context in this post is that 7 weeks of vacation only kicks in after 28 years of full-time service and if the employee was hired prior to April 1, 2009. And it's 6 weeks for FTEs with 28 years hired after April 1, 2009. hrreporter.com/focus-areas/la…

You just know they would be the two most annoying guys in your Polisci 101 tutorial
This take is so unhinged. In the words of Pope Paul VI, "If you want peace, you work for justice."
There will be no peace without justice for Palestinians.
I have many critiques of the Catholic Church, but Pope Francis' solidarity with Palestinians sends an important message.
