In honour of its founder, Air Commodore Jasjit Singh, the Centre for Aerospace Power and Strategic Studies organised the 9th Jasjit Memorial Lecture on July 28, 2026, at the Air Force Auditorium. This year the lecture was delivered by Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM** (Retd), Hon'ble Governor of Bihar, on the theme, ‘Beyond Borders: Reimagining India’s Strategic Neighbourhood in the 21st Century’. Some of the important highlights from his talk include India is not a South Asian power, but it is an emerging civilisational and maritime power, stretching from the Mediterranean to the Western Pacific. India will have to balance continental challenges along with the emerging maritime challenges. The Indo-Pacific will define India’s future. Pakistan is a permanent tactical challenge, China is a defining strategic challenge, whereas Bangladesh is the strategic hinge between continental security and maritime future. Last, but not least, geography has to become a strategy for India. #Neighbourhood#NationalSecurity#JasjitSingh#Nalanda#StrategicStudies#SoldierScholar#India @atahasnain53 @HQ_IDS_India @IAF_MCC @adgpi @IDSAIndia @USIofIndia @CENJOWS @OfficialCLAWSIN @nmfindia @SpokespersonMoD
