The Nazis, too, encouraged people to calculate the cost of keeping disabled people alive. School children were set exercises in estimating the economic cost of 'useless eaters'.
This is a dark day, @Telegraph, and you should be ashamed.

The NHS asks 'what's the matter with you?' and then tries to fix it.
Good social care asks 'what matters to you?' and then works alongside us to be and do those things.
To be valuable, the integration of health & social care will elevate the second question above the first.

Parents of disabled children and young people are constantly urged not make a fuss. But we know that the only way to achieve anything is to do so. Just one part of what’s so wrong with the system.

Hey, so-called clever progressives: stop calling people “morons”, “retards”, “idiots” and “imbeciles”.
It’s the language of hatred and eugenics. Not good.

Dear @trussliz
You said today “I grew up in the 1980s, which were characterised by boarded up shops, people with no hope turning to drugs, families struggling to put food on the table. And that's why we need to get back to Thatcherism”

5. I have, however, been asked to remove my tweet. I will not. I am not here to blame. I am highlighting a practice that needs calling out and must not be ignored. It is an employees market. Refuse to engage in this practice. You are not easily replaced! Take a stand!

Following #BBCPanorama, we’ve put together a few links where autistic people and people with learning disabilities can try to get help if they are stuck in ATU. We know this kind of abuse is endemic in the system.

Sadly they are severely under-funded, grossly under-staffed, & the clinical leaders are under so much pressure that they've lost the ability to see clearly any more (imo). Oh, and for every £1 rightly invested in cancer research, one tenth of a penny goes to mental health
