One of the most overlooked parts of building an offense is teaching players how to identify defensive structure.
Before the snap, your QB should be able to answer:
How many safeties are deep?
Where is the defensive strength?
How many defenders are in the box?
Who is the conflict defender?
Where do we have leverage or numbers?
The goal isn’t just to recognize a coverage. It’s to understand where the defense is vulnerable and how your offense can attack it.
Don’t just teach players what to run. Teach them what they’re looking at.

If your offense only works when everything goes exactly as planned, you have a problem.
What happens when the defense gives you a look you didn't practice?
Can your QB make the right decision? Can your OL adjust? Do your WRs understand where the open space is?
We spend so much time teaching assignments, but how much time are we spending teaching players how to solve problems? Do you have rules within your system?
That's where real offensive development happens.

Love this article and the thought process behind it. I also love the Wisconsin playoff matrix but I think there's some tweaks that could make it even better, and tie it into conference realignment so earning playoff "points" is fair to everyone within the same division

Leadership isn’t avoiding blame. It’s accepting responsibility.
Before you correct the player, correct the process.
What did we miss? What wasn’t clear? What could we have prepared better?
Accountability begins with ownership.

Written by the coach who trained some of the most competitive athletes ever (Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, now Paul Skenes)
- Average people will read this and say 'that's awesome'
- Elite people will read this and say "I need to save this and keep it somewhere to remind myself"
I need this reminder, too, we're human. Go Win, stay consistent
