KCB Bank Uganda has today highlighted the role of affordable agribusiness financing in strengthening food security and creating jobs at the *Food Security and Job Creation Round Table Discussion at UIRI, Namanve*.
Wensi Niwagaba, Manager, SME Business, highlighted the bank’s financing solutions, digital services and support for women entrepreneurs, emphasising the importance of finance, business skills and market access in building sustainable agribusinesses.
The event was officially opened by Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, who called for stronger public private partnerships to drive investment in Uganda’s agricultural sector.

At the Public Private Sector Roundtable Discussion on Food Security and Job Creation, speakers highlighted the complementary roles of research institutions and agribusiness networks in strengthening Uganda’s food systems.
The Uganda Industrial Research Institute (UIRI) plays a key role in supporting industrial development through research, product development, technology transfer and value addition, helping businesses turn ideas and raw agricultural materials into marketable products.
The African Agribusiness Incubators Network (AAIN) complements this work by supporting agribusiness incubation, equipping young people and women with entrepreneurial skills, and connecting agricultural innovation to investment and sustainable markets.
These efforts help turn agricultural ideas into viable businesses, creating employment opportunities and strengthening food security.
For KCB Bank Uganda, these conversations reinforce the importance of collaboration, enterprise financing and investment in agricultural value chains to drive sustainable economic growth.
