i genuinely believe england would bench rodri, ruiz and pedri. as a utd fan for 30+ years i’ve watched scholes, carrick, mainoo win major titles dictating and controlling games and then be criminally overlooked and underused for their country.

until the mentality changes, it’ll stay the same. they bring it on themselves. this is one of the main reasons i’ve been the least emotionally invested in a major tournament and why it’s club > country.
