"Ta-ta then!" Steve Wright's last link on BBC Radio 2 this Sunday. A genuine broadcasting legend. He will always be the soundtrack to my bus ride home from school.

Emotional scenes on @BBCRadio2 this evening, following the announcement of Steve Wright’s passing 🥺
(Queen) Bobbie Pryor, you have absolutely NOTHING to apologise for. I cannot fathom just how difficult it would be to learn of the death of a beloved colleague live on air 💔

I am so sad that my dear friend Steve Wright has passed away. He was a great broadcaster and we just loved one another’s company. I was shocked at the news and will miss him terribly.

Totally shocked to hear the news about the great Steve Wright. We were planning lunch to celebrate the award of his richly deserved MBE. An outstanding and innovative broadcaster whose listeners loved him. What a loss to the world of radio.

Actually feel a bit sorry for Mollie though. She learned the never trust a pretty boy lesson the hard way and in front of 5 million viewers. The rest of us learnt it at a school disco with about 30 people there #TheTraitors

-Bumping into a cupboard
-The mess in a clean house
-Being ill
-Someone being in their reserved seat
-Having to squeeze by
-Asking for the bill
-Sneezing
-Being short changed
-Being insulted
-Walking into a lamppost
-Having a door held for them

-Informing someone that they’ve dropped something
-Crying
-Fainting
-Saying sorry too much

I don't know who needs to hear this but... if you're thinking about giving up, remember in 2 years you could be marrying someone you haven't met yet. In 2 years you could have a job at a company you haven't heard of that makes you happy. In 2 years you could be on your way to buying a home you never thought that you could afford. In 2 seconds you could be happy again. In 10 years you could be watching your kids growing up. But you'll never know unless you get there. If you want to give up don't. Go for walk/run. Gather yourself and remember it's a bad time not a bad life, you'll get through this trust me.

My daughter has given me an advent calendar. Every day in December she has cleaned one thing, she cleaned the sink one day, cleaned my boots for work another day. Such a sweet idea. She wanted to get me a calender but had no money. So she said she would do a chore instead.

The people with whom I’ll be discussing the rain over the next week or so:
1. Family members
Including frequently asking family members in other parts of the country “is it raining where you are?”
2. Colleagues
Being especially sure to ask “still raining?” when a colleague appears next to me absolutely drenched. It will also be the main topic of small talk to begin every video call
3. My neighbour
We shall roll our eyes, tut and say “lovely weather haha!”, both glad to have an excuse to dash inside our respective houses without looking rude
4. The supermarket checkout assistant
They will ask me if it’s still raining out there and I will say “yes, it’s terrible, isn’t it?”
5. Social media
I will describe the weather and someone on social media will get upset because the weather where I am isn’t exactly the same as where they are
6. The cat/dog
I will say “oh you’re soaked!” and they won’t understand me
7. Myself
I will stand and stare out of the window, hand on hip, other hand holding a mug, and occasionally mutter “really coming down now”
