Small-scale producers—the people who hold the keys to sustainable food systems—are being drowned out by industry lobbyists. The @UNFCCC must act decisively to cut Big Ag’s influence if it hopes to salvage credibility ahead of COP30.

🦖Fossil of the Day reemerges — stomping back into action today!
It is #COP28's most infamous award. Handed to countries "doing their best to be the worst" in the climate negotiations.
In just over one hour, the first winner will be announced. See 🧵for details! #FossilOfTheDay

When we talk about the need to #EndFactoryFarming, big ag thinks we're being extreme. This is what's extreme: rapid biodiversity loss caused by agriculture will make rural communities more vulnerable to climate impacts.
Losing biodiversity means losing the fight against #ClimateChange 🚨

🐘🌍 News from #CITESCoP19!
@CITES has voted to adopt a moratorium on exporting wild #elephants to ex situ conservation.
Any export of wild live-caught African elephants will be limited to in situ conservation programmes. This means no wild elephants will exported to zoos!

The gall of developed countries to claim to be champions of the 1.5 degree limit at #COP27 while they fail to finance mitigation, continue with plans for fossil fuel expansion, & hold L&D finance hostage to it is... really tremendous
Replying to @ActionAidUSA
"The 1.5 degree limit - originally championed by civil society and developing countries, who have the most to lose if the limit is breached - is being hijacked and weaponized against them" - @brandoncwu

Across Africa, climate change is devastating communities. Yet Africans are responsible for just 4% of global human induced emissions. @MoveTheWorld’s @kellydent is #COP27 explaining to media the climate impact of cruel factory farming ntvkenya.co.ke/commentary/af…

Glad to have shared the stage with these women indigenous leaders. We talked about how deindustrialisation can transform communities. We must recognise the innate strengths of our identity, culture and traditions and value that towards building a sustainable food system. #COP27
