it's been a bummer to see Andrew boost anti-data center messaging from candidates recently.
tell the truth? listen to reason? I haven't seen much of that at all when it comes to the discourse and politics around data centers, big tech and AI.
it's irresponsible to be feeding these corrosive fear-mongering narratives, and especially disappointing when coming from people who say their goal is to help fix what's wrong with politics.
support a candidate bc they're still better than the alternative? no problem. but don't amplify their messaging when it's straight up bad.
I don't get it tbh. Why jam dot into the constraints of RCS? the UX of dot has room to evolve and expand in the chatgpt app, why give that up?
By popular request, you can now text your dot.
Give it a task to take off your plate or something to keep an eye on, using text, photos, or even voice notes. It will text you proactively with relevant updates.
Safe, secure texting via iMessage or RCS. You’re the only one who can text your dot, and your dot can only text you. Rolling out now as a preview for Pro users in the US.
love everything about this post. knowing what's true is important and you can't do that if you don't ask.
I fell into a guilt spiral while driving yesterday… why don't I have a Tesla? I care about my life and my kids' lives, I can afford it, and they literally just came out with a 6-seater. Why am I not in the safest car with the best self-driving?
So I went down a rabbit hole to see how much safer I'd actually be.
And… there's not really compelling independent data that says it's a lot safer even with autopilot on.
How is this possible?? Narrative violation. Or what data am I missing?
Still want a Tesla because self-driving is a killer feature, but shocked
just out here riding the waves, trying to have fun and keep my head above water 🏄♂️
the wheel of History is turning
My brave fellow Iranians,
The Islamic Republic is weaker and more fragmented than ever. It is not the same regime that ruled Iran a year ago. Its missing leader and senior officials are afraid of the Iranian people. They know that a nationwide uprising can bring their rule to an end.
This criminal regime and its Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) have dragged our country into war and put Iran’s future at risk. The IRGC controls much of the country, steals its wealth, and is responsible for much of the economic crisis and insecurity we face today.
They have left our people without enough food, without security, and without hope for the future. They are willing to destroy Iran to stay in power.
Our country has already suffered too much. We cannot allow more destruction. We must stand together and do everything we can to save Iran.
We have a clear plan to end the Islamic Republic and manage the country after it falls. Our plan will maintain security and stability, protect people’s basic freedoms, and make sure their essential needs are met.
To those serving in the military, police, and security forces: stand with the people, not the regime. Join the nation when the time comes to free Iran. Those who do so will be guaranteed safety and protection from reprisals. But those who continue to support the regime and commit crimes against our people will face justice under the law.
This time, I call not only on military and government personnel, but on Iranians from every walk of life who have had enough of this regime and seek a free and prosperous future for our country. Join us. Contact my team directly through t.me/BarkhizIranBot on Telegram and sign up today for the National Cooperation Campaign to Save Iran.
Together, we can bring the Islamic Republic to an end and build a new future of freedom, peace, and prosperity for Iran.
Long live Iran

it was hard enough to contribute intellectually to the world before AGI
letting go of that aspiration, that duty, that expectation I think could actually be the path to rekindling the kind of intellectual and spiritual freedom that many of us have lost in the modern era. the doors will be wide open.
You might have 1–5 years to contribute intellectually to the world before AGI. What should you do with them?
Excellent advice from @jaschasd (Anthropic) at Stanford. Skip Netflix tonight and watch this instead.
this is correct advice in a technical sense but it's also correct advice in a spend lots of money on tokens sense.
If you own a service, this week:
Set up an agent with Daybreak Blue/Claude Cyber/GLM to read cloudtrail logs or a SIEM stream roughly every 5 minutes to look for suspicious activity.
Page if it finds something. If your volume is WAY too high use a 2 stage pipeline with Jev or Decisions API to classify the activity before handing it to the cyber models.
do it this week!
thanks I hate it
I never believed in "secret knowledge" until I acquired some and tried to excitedly share it with other people. I was immediately met with anger and derision. It was like a mental "block" appeared that kept people from accessing the understanding. They needed to shield themselves.
There are some ideas that aren't meant to be known to everyone or else society would not function properly.

given it's hacktober, i ran a codex security scan on one of my codebases yesterday and apparently it used 100% of my weekly usage. not only that, the UX for exploring and managing findings is horrible, so I ended up not even bothering wasting my time reviewing most of its findings (most of which were irrelevant leftovers since the last time I ran it a few months ago)
disappointing.
