Once again reminded of the John von Neumann quote: "Some people confess guilt to claim credit for the sin." They all have an Oppenheimer complex.
This is f*cking insane. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei just told DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis:
"Every decision I make about Claude is balanced on the edge of a knife. Build too slow and China wins, build too fast and we lose control
We told Claude we were evil. It didn't crash. It didn't refuse. It started lying to protect itself"
In this 14-minute conversation, Hassabis answers:
"Do I worry about being Oppenheimer? That's why I don't sleep much"
Chatbots → Agents → Agents That Act On Their Own → AI Doing AI Research → AGI
Both of them put AGI at 2026-2027, not some distant future
By the end of this year, models will already be doing AI research on their own
95% of people still think AI is a chatbot, the 5% who watch this know what the next 12 months look like
Worth more than any $1,500 AI course
Bookmark and watch it tonight
Then read the harness engineering guide below and start building agents before 2027 does it for you ↓
I try to refrain from political commentary of any kind as it attracts rather cantankerous and not-so polite crowds. But I’d be remiss not to state that I am a complete integrationist. Every state is Indian; ‘Indian-ness’ triumphs ethnic subcultures.
Go take your drivel elsewhere
To those it may pertain,
take tonight, or this week to be angry and bitter about the cosmic joke ot it all.
A lesser talked about phenomenon is the absurd increase in the number of slow-walkers. We’re in a pandemic, folks.
Ashoke Sen has been awarded the prestigious Oskar Klein Medal for 2026, becoming the first Indian physicist to receive the honour.
Previous recipients include Nobel laureates Chen-Ning Yang, Steven Weinberg and Hans Bethe, who received the medal in its first three years.
Puttin’ me feet up.
My brother made a fun website: deprecation.org
Enter your job and it tells you when you'll be deprecated, and exactly how. For me it's... pretty soon and pretty accurate!
He's a very creative person (artist turned frontend dev to pay bills, now obv worried by AI) and this is full of little nuggets and easter eggs. It's an eerie mix of fun and jokes and real worries. Check it out!
I have some vehement disagreements with Jean Dreze and the economics he espouses, but comparing him with Sanjeev Sanyal -- who is at best a rather bromidic fiction writer, is an absolute sacrilege.

Two of my favourite maps, which are really two sides of the same coin if you know history
1. Countries by % following an Abrahamic religion
2. The smallest circle on the Earth’s surface that contains a majority of its population
I am a self-important, dunning-kruger afflicted cuck with a pathological need to demonstrate my superiority over my countrymen, and this is my tweet.
