In a few years, this kid will be judged for his English/Urdu. He will struggle to speak as confidently and expressively as he does now, and he will be forced to think in Punjabi and then constantly translate into English/Urdu in his head. He will lose the race to a kid from +

One thing that’s cool about every ecosystem having its own bird species is that means every ecosystem has its own soundtrack. Swamp music vs forest music vs mountain music. The world is so awesome

The men accused in Waseem Abbas’s murder and Laiba Ijaz’s fraud case are both dead in police encounters. I have ZERO sympathy for either, and I understand why this feels like swift justice. But we can’t let this become our idea of justice. How do we know who else was involved? And are we really comfortable giving the police THIS much power? Justice should mean people fear the certainty of being caught, tried and held accountable. Killing these men might satisfy public anger, but it doesn’t fix the system that allowed these crimes to happen. We’re just replacing one form of lawlessness with another.

There is a large number of newborns in Gaza being born without limbs and with many congenital deformities. These are the results of the phosphorus bombs and other bombs whose nature we do not know, which Israel used against the Palestinians in Gaza. We have seen every type of bomb raining down on us. This is another face of the genocide.

The murder of 15 year old Waseem Abbas in Multan is sickening on so many levels. One of the cruelest things one could ever see. An orphan sent out to work, chased down and run over for trying to leave. What kind of depraved mindset makes someone feel so entitled to a child’s labour and his life? I wonder how much of that brutality comes from knowing just how vulnerable he was. No parents to question his treatment, no family to fight for him. And why was an orphanage sending children into such conditions in the first place? We talk about child labour as though it’s just about poverty, but it’s also about the enormous power adults have over children who have absolutely no way of protecting themselves. I hope the state pursues this case to the very end, because justice for this boy cannot depend on whether he has a family to demand it. It’s just so so tragic.

Israel killed her husband and ALL SIX of her kids.
“No one calls me mum” 🥲 The mother of my martyred friend Yousef. Israel killed her entire family: her husband and all of her children. She speaks from her heart about the sorrow, grief, and oppression left behind by this monumental loss. The worst loss anyone can ever live through is to be a mother and lose one of your children.

This reminds me of the Palestinian man with Down syndrome and autism who was mauled by an Israeli military dog during a raid on his home in Gaza. No one could reach him. He kept patting the dog’s head, saying, “Enough, my dear, enough.” Eventually, the dog began tearing into him as he lay bleeding. The soldiers took him away, locked him in a separate room, and refused to give him water when he begged for it. He died, thirsty… His name is Muhammed Bhar

Was brought to tears today reading about Khabbab ibn Arrat R.A who was the Prophet’s companion and one of the early converts. He was a slave and was brutally tortured by his female master. They placed hot stones on his back and branded him with ironbut he didnt renounce his faith
