Thank God we avoided privatization, though. Because then SS proceeds invested in a proper asset allocation would only be worth 5x what they were worth 20 years ago, whereas now this genius “safe” system has $6 trillion of unfunded IOU’s to its name. But yeah, Paul Ryan is who wants to push granny off a cliff in a wheelchair.

Everything Democrats and corporate media falsely claimed Trump would do with the pardon power to destroy democracy and the rule of law-- pardon all his family members and all his political allies -- were things Trump didn't do. They were, however, all things that Biden did:

If you voted Democrat and you are feeling that the election result is truly horrifying, do this one simple thing for your mental health: Write down your fears of what might happen in the next 4 years on a piece of paper. Re-read and check in on them every few months. It will be a constant source of relief to you when you see that your fears will not, in fact, come true. Then start asking why you had those fears in the first place and how you can prevent them from forming the next time.

This would be an excellent time for everyone to take a big step back from hysterical demagoguery and conspiracy-mongering. Insisting your *least-favorite* candidate is *literally Hitler* was always bad — maybe stop doing that. Perhaps even walk it back.

There is absolutely no place for political violence in our democracy. Although we don’t yet know exactly what happened, we should all be relieved that former President Trump wasn’t seriously hurt, and use this moment to recommit ourselves to civility and respect in our politics. Michelle and I are wishing him a quick recovery.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you yet another advocate of utilitarianism, eugenics, elitism, cowardice, bullying and ultimately, hatred and dehumanization. Don’t misunderstand the drivel below. @RichardHanania truly believes he’s better and smarter than you. Than everyone. He thinks he has some sort of worth that others don’t possess. That’s why he uses a meaningless term like “healthy” to ascertain the value of human life. In reality, “healthy” is a euphemism for discrimination and bias and selective targeting. It’s why Hitler began his murderous reign by prohibiting marriages between the “healthy” and the “unfit,” and systematically moved on to targeting, imprisoning and terminating the “unhealthy.” Because the evaluative criteria are subjective and defined by people like @RichardHanania. You know - the “perfect” ones deciding who is worthy of living and who is not. Give this guy some time, and he’ll be using every ailment under the sun as justification for termination at any stage of life. So, yeah, @RichardHanania - I’m one of those “people” who think this is a “bad thing.” I’m one of those “people” who recognizes the intrinsic personhood and worth of my son, Iron Will, and all the other “unhealthy” people like him at every stage. I’m one of those “people” who is offended on behalf of Iron Will and all the others you so lackadaisically dismiss as better off having been terminated long before they were given the same chance YOU were to live and make an impact in this broken world. There’s zero intellectual value in your statements, and you know it. You’re not astute or scientific. You’re broken and egoistic. Ultimately, your eugenic dispositions and disregard for human life (especially the lives you ignorantly demean as potentially “unhealthy”) define YOU as a person more than they could ever define those you deem unworthy, as non-persons. I find consolation in knowing that as committed as YOU are to going after the defenseless and vulnerable, I’M infinitely more committed to protecting them, advocating for them and giving them every chance possible to reach their God (not man)-given potential. And I ain’t alone. So bring it, you psychopath. #Personhood #IronWill #DownSyndrome #TeamIronWill
The rate of Down Syndrome births in Europe is about half of what it would be due to abortion. Many of the parents go on to have a healthy child instead, or maybe two. So you get just as many lives but more health. There are actually people who think this is a bad thing.

About five minutes into this Seth concedes that scientists often get things wrong. He says they were learning right along with us. But this raises two important questions: If they were learning as they went, then why were they ruling by mandate rather than mere guidance, and why were they coordinating with big tech to permanently censor anyone who challenged them? I've made this point many times. If science evolves and learns, as Seth admits, then it should always welcome questions and challenges in the hope that we can get to the truth faster. It should never shut down dissent as if today's answers are the final answers. The evolution of science is a knock-down argument against both mandates and censorship.

I have never seen people who will debate the most picayune controversies for weeks at a time, so incurious as to address something as deadly serious as this. The real reason IMO is because it forces them to re-evaluate what people and institutions are worthy of their trust.

It’s disturbing that the president of the United States thinks that disinflation is the same thing as deflation.
Let me be clear to any corporation that hasn’t brought their prices back down even as inflation has come down: It’s time to stop the price gouging. Give American consumers a break.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
As long as the inflation rate is positive, prices are increasing. The fact that inflation has come down to 3.2% in October means that prices are still going up, albeit at a slower rate than before. imf.org/en/Publication… eu.usatoday.com/story/money/20… statista.com/statistics/273… The Federal Reserve aims for a target inflation rate of 2%. federalreserve.gov/faqs/economy_1…

Hours before the UK government planned to remove an 8-month-old baby from her ventilator, the Vatican's pediatric hospital offered treatment at no cost. Baby Indi’s parents are desperate to accept their offer, but the UK is refusing, insisting Indi must be “allowed to die.”

It is an endorsement of Hamas. The only one who benefits from a ceasefire is Hamas. Hamas knows they can’t win a physical war, so they wage a PR war and wait for useful idiots like you to scream “CEASEFIRE!” Do you know what Hamas did during the last ceasefire? They regrouped, rearmed, recruited, trained in Iran, paraglided into a music festival, invaded small towns, and slaughtered 1400 people. It’s easy to call for a ceasefire sitting comfy in your American home. We’re isolated over here, we’re not surrounded by enemies who teach their children the best ways to kill us. If you really want peace you’ll call for Hamas to unconditionally surrender and release the hostages. Anything else is just helping Hamas.
Yes. I called for a ceasefire. That’s not an endorsement of Hamas. It’s a call for peace. And no, history really didn’t begin on October 7. We must actually study the full past to properly understand (and avoid repeating) what led to that awful event, and the resulting crisis.

AOC has now posted 3 tweets since the massacre on Saturday. 2 of them focused on a couple dumb random Jewish NY protesters saying something dumb and 1 criticizing Israel’s war tactics. Exactly 0 tweets about the largest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust.
