Lovely swim where my fellow swimmer had every swim in September marked as her last outdoor swim of the season, until she went again, and now finally went swimming with me of the first of October!

Another beautiful pool in Rotterdam: Van Maanenbad (1937)
It used to have a retractable roof, which no longer exists, but the outdoor pool next to it remains
In Rotterdam, they have a 30 mins metro ride from city center straight onto the beach. Station literally in the sand. And look at the weather I was presented with ❤️🏊🏻♀️☀️
Finally! This pool has been om my wishlist for a long time: Oostelijk Zwembad in Rotterdam. Beautifully renovated, originally built in 1932, L-shaped basin: 25m plus a small instruction pool. More compact than I expected.
After six years of renovations, Brussels' Neptunium pool will reopen in September. Built in the 1950s, in the streamline modernist style, this is a great place to swim.
Na jarenlange renovatiewerken opent zwembad Neptunium op 18 september : bruzz.be/sport/na-jarenlange…
Not complaining, but it seems strange how quiet places like this can be during these beautiful days. Lovely swim. (Ijzeren Man in Vught)

After getting used to the water at St, Johann, I did the Rhine "swim" (heavily assisted by the current) from the Tinguely museum to Johanniterbrücke. Lovely to be in the water with all kinds of bathers. When I arrived in Basel, I was not sure about going in, but glad I did!
My first river swimming session in Basel took place at Rheinbad St. Johann, where both swimming within and outside of the barriers is possible. Nice way for me to get used to the current. They also offer showers, changing rooms and coffee.
In Riehen near Basel, they have an ecological swimming pond, similar to what we have in Antwerp. Yet their buildings are another level, designed by Herzog and De Meuron and emitting that lovely wooden sauna smell. Pond itself is small but nice and includes a diving area.
In Geneva, they love their swimmers. On the lake side there are beautifully designed swimming structures like the amazing circle dock and a sand beach, but also just the banks, that are part of the swimming zone and used by all kinds of swimmers, enjoying the very clear water ❤️

City of Antwerp is planning to only open its outdoor swimming facilities 3 days a week during May, June and September. With wild swimming still being prohibited in Belgium and previously have its lido and pond open 7 days a week this seems like a terrible plan for all swimmers 😣

First step is to email our Sports representative, who with their department loves to emphasize swimming in their communication but is now responsible for the very limited swimming hours
