Nothing says “DO NOT DISTURB” quite like @kkblinder in this chair, designing her heart out during #BirthdayWeek 🎨🎂✨
A couple of my favorite images from the post-quantum blogs today:
We’re building CryptoLabe, an internal AI-powered tool that discovers cryptography across our codebase, surfaces dependencies, and helps us progress toward a full post-quantum migration by 2029. Here’s what we’ve learned so far. cfl.re/4jeczqX #BirthdayWeek

Thank you @amritcat for having me on @villageglobal !
Appreciate the opportunity to rant about the invention of the camera, and the ramifications of unlocking film-making as an art form.
We are so early. We're at the dawn of new artistic movements that have only just now become possible.
I am so optimistic that the pie for this planet will grow when artists are able to step boldly into the frontier and expand the possibility space of what art can become.
And if you're an artist doing something weird and unprecedented, let's connect!

We *are* the new art movement.
"I would tell the computer to tell me something hurtful but true. Where you flinch tells you where a poem is hiding."
Jade Wang spent her early years training as a concert pianist in Shanghai, came to the US at 5, got a PhD in neuroscience, did a postdoc at NASA Ames, founded multiple startups, and has been angel investing since 2010. She's now building an interactive poetry trilogy that lives at the intersection of AI, art, and human perception, and planning a museum installation where the machine prompts the human, not the other way around.
In this conversation with Amrit Rao, @qiqing explains why she thinks we're at the beginning of a new artistic movement, and what finding a pain point and finding a poem have in common.

My favorite illustration project of the week and it's really just 🌚+🪩
Yesterday's solar eclipse didn't just block the sun — it put a dent in Internet traffic. In Iceland, Spain, and Portugal, HTTP requests dropped up to 30% right at peak totality. Not a network issue. Just millions of people stepping outside to look up. cfl.re/4gwgQE8
For anyone keeping count, there are 6 pets (4 cats) on the Cloudflare blog this week. (New record)

ALT Together, we mourn design—killed, according to X, approximately 847 times this year alone. And yet, no matter how many times we declare design is dead, it is alive. Design is everywhere, quietly thriving in the clarity of the subway map when you fear you have missed your stop, in the legibility of the dinner menu even when you aren't sure if sorrel is a vegetable or a new pasta shape, and in the dopamine-releasing notification that a meeting has been cancelled. Design doesn't die. It is not a trend to be disrupted or a technology to be replaced. It's the difference between caring about how something makes you feel, not just if it works. So here's to design—endlessly declared gone, endlessly proving everyone wrong.
