A judge let him walk.
Meet Aaron Bayne Wright. 46-47ish.
Houston, TX.
June 2021:
* He cut the power to ex-wife Andrea Bolton's home.
* Broke in through a back window.
* Shot her 5 times while their kids (ages 5 to 12) slept inside.
* She played dead. She survived.
*Multiple surgeries. ICU. Therapy.
CONVICTED (fact):
* April / May 2025.
* Jury: guilty.
* Aggravated assault of a family member (serious bodily injury, deadly weapon).
* Burglary of a habitation with intent to commit aggravated assault.
* Sentence: 50 years (concurrent on both counts).
THEN THE SOFT JUSTICE:
* Judge Melissa Morris granted a new trial "in the interest of justice."
* Freed him on $175,000 bond.
* Andrea and the kids lived in fear while a man with a 50-year sentence walked free.
Oct. 28-29, 2026:
* 14th Court of Appeals.
* Morris "abused her discretion."
* Conviction and 50-year sentence ordered reinstated.
He STILL stayed out on that bond.
Nov. 4, 2026:
* Judge Colleen Gaido raised bond to $1 million.
* Taken into custody.
* House arrest if he posts.
A jury said 50 years for shooting his children's mother five times in their home.
One judge tried to erase it.
An appeals court had to put it back.
He only went back behind bars when another judge finally jacked the bond.
