Quest 2 is definitely an old piece of hardware by now, but it's also the #2 most used headset on SteamVR, representing an estimated 772,800 monthly active users. Not that Meta should necessarily care about what's going on on SteamVR, but it's clear there's still a ton of active Quest 2 users out there. Sunsetting such a widely used product doesn't seem like a good call.

Clearly OpenAI hasn't yet come up with a AI model which can predict the success of their products.
I thought AI would make game development so much easier and more efficient that we'd see more, better, and bigger VR games. But that doesn't seem to be happening.
I guess you can just filter out rude ones from the training. Shouldn’t be that difficult.
This sounds weird, but it is actually probably a good policy.
Even if you don’t believe AI is conscious (I don’t), it stands to reason that you don’t want future models trained on endless content of humans being rude to models.
The models only understand the data they’ve been trained on, or what they run into in their interactions, so if you want safe and aligned models we probably want AI to have lots of good interactions in their training data.
Anthropic may have more extreme beliefs than this (though even if they didn’t, you may want to word policies like this), but this is sort of an easy Pascal’s wager for AI. Just be nice to the AI.
This is really cool. It has been my dream that I build games for consoles.

It was my honor to keynote this forum in Taiwan.
"If Taiwan can reach a durable shared view of its own future . . . Beijing will reach the conclusion that many nations have reached many times in history: This is a war that may be winnable, but it is not worth winning."
Glad to kick off our 2nd international forum on Whole-of-Society Defense Resilience, as #Taiwan continues to defend peace through bolstering civil preparedness. Today, we launch the World Alliance for Disaster Management, enhancing Taiwan's contributions with global cooperation.
I have claude workflows which incorporate gemini image generators for my knowledge works, but they tend to be quite expensive.
TBH nosepads that big make me scared for long term comfort 😬
I really hope this isn't another "tried to make it look like glasses but needs an overhead strap anyway" situation.

If we don't use AI for reviews, someone else will, and all the weaknesses of our papers will be exposed publicly.
So, the best thing we can do is to get AI to edit our drafts. Then of course Pangram will flag them.
This is both an interesting experiment and a sign of a tsunami coming for academia. AIs retroactively reading the research and finding both opportunities and issues with published papers, then sharing those judgements publicly. d3jhl7jsny6f2h.cloudfront.ne…
>Writers change their prose to outplay classifiers rather than for themselves, with no visible cooperation between person and model.
With AI detectors being used in schools, students may spend more time rewriting their work to avoid detection than engaging in meaningful writing.
Writing model has been achieved internally.
Every model you’ve seen on your timeline that passes AI detectors as human has the same problem. The writing is either bad or filled with random artifacts and mistakes. Our latest @feldarai model is different & soon available in the app.
It can write complete pieces, edit, continue anywhere between 500 and 4,000 words that are classified as human by every AI detector we’ve tested, while delivering exceptionally good prose. I spoke about not having detection performance as our main goal earlier, this naturally emerged by optimizing the model for structural coherence across long passages (even the frontier models fail often at this) and natural shifts in language and rythm
You can't use cloud AI services to deceive Pangram because it has already distilled their styles. You need to create your own tools which Pangram has no access.
Anthropic should fire their PR chief. I have been saying this for months.
The whole “20x” in Claude’s pricing is so misleading.
The $100 plan says 5x Pro limits, while the $200 plan says 20x Pro limits. That makes it sound like you’re getting 4x the usage.
But the 20x applies only to the 5-hour usage window. The weekly limit is basically just 2x the $100 plan.
I spent way too much time digging through the internet and Reddit to figure this out. They could’ve just stated the limits directly instead of marketing it as “20x.”
That alone would’ve saved me hours of confusion.
This may be common in some countries, but not in Japan. They'd better do it in the street.

We need to talk about Anthropic. Its relationship with its power users appears to be collapsing in real time.
A few weeks ago, my post about Claude becoming lazy and failing at basic agentic tasks received 2.5 million views and more than 2,000 replies, with the overwhelming majority of commenters agreeing.
This weekend, Anthropic framed a 17% reduction in current weekly usage as a “permanent 25% increase.” It deleted the original announcement, reposted it with an explanation, and still received a Community Note.
Today, users discovered that the $200 “Max 20x” plan only provides 20x usage within a five-hour window. Its weekly allowance appears to be only roughly twice that of the $100 plan. Anthropic is already facing a proposed class-action lawsuit over these limits.
Meanwhile, Claude is going viral for ending a session after a user repeatedly insulted it.
Claude may be the only $ 200-a-month product where the agent regularly fails to finish the job, nobody can tell you exactly how much usage you have bought, and the product can decide that it no longer wants to work with you.
Employees like @trq212 take these concerns seriously and genuinely ask for honest feedback, which I really appreciate. I have always found Anthropic’s staff to be friendly and respectful.
But Anthropic’s public communication is very poor right now, and its models are also performing poorly in terms of practical usability. Fable is the exception, but its rate limits make it almost impossible to use consistently.
I am genuinely trying to understand the underlying issue, but I honestly cannot come up with a convincing explanation.
Anthropic set out to be the highly ethical AI company, a position that ultimately led to its clash with the DoD. But the idea that this philosophy should extend to Claude ending sessions because it objects to a user’s tone is baffling to me. Frankly, it is a deal-breaker.
An AI needs to be able to handle my frustration. After all, it is not a person who can actually be offended.
Anthropic is reportedly preparing for an IPO. Given that, it is even more puzzling that the company does not appear to be making an all-out effort to improve its public image.
Anthropic is making things remarkably easy for the competition right now.
If you are bilingual, there is a very simple way to de-AI-nize your text: machine-translate it into another language, and then translate it back yourself. Since the final step is done by a human, AI detectors like Pangram will see the text as human-written. Works really well.
I bet they won’t fix this until Fable switches to usage-based pricing.
