Finally sharing some photos from the stunning Cesar region of Colombia from earlier this year with my friend Pete Shen and our guide Jose Luis Ropero. The latest AviList update now recognises Perija Parakeet as a distinct species separate from Painted Parakeet.
Plains-wanderer (female) - another single species family bird from a recent trip to Australia. Feather pattern reminiscent of South American Seedsnipes. Flight reminiscent of a Common Sandpiper.
An added bonus in the locality is an awesome pie shop in nearby Deniliquin.
Not a picture I'm going to win any awards for, but taken at an ISO of 25,600 at 5:50 am in a dark wooded area by a stream. I could barely see the bird! It's amazing what noise reduction software can achieve. Spotted Elachura, a single species family bird from AR, India.
Three Monkeys from Peru; Squirrel, Capuchin & Woolly.
Lynx Edicion All the Mammals of the World is on my Christmas wish list so hopefully I will be able to identify them to species if I'm fortunate enough to receive a copy.
Weasel (?) sp very interested in Urubamba Antpitta on a recent trip to Wayqecha Biological Station, Peru.
Scarlet & White Tanager from last week in NW Ecuador, one of the more scarce Tanagers of the region.
First visit to Staines and Stanwell Moors since 2019 this lunchtime. Male Gargany on the flooded field on Stanwell Moor.
Dark in the forest. Photo taken at 10,000 ISO but at least I managed a record shot. Painted Manakin, North Peru - Mar 2023
Always good to get the bird on the front cover of the field guide. Scarlet-banded Barbet - Peru March 2023
Neergaard's Sunbird ... one of the Maputaland endemics I enjoyed on a short trip to Phinda last week.

Like London Buses ... Possibly a different Rouzel at Osterley Park this morning ... Firecrest still present too.
Good morning at Osterley. Brambling and Fieldfare still lingering, Little Owl still not amused and thanks to @IsleworthBirder for the info on the Firecrest I was able add this bird to my patch list. Willow Warblers have departed.
A transition type of morning at Osterley. Brambling and Fieldfares on their way out and Willow Warblers on their way in. @OsterleyNT
