Delighted to present a lightning talk at #ISQUA2026 today on Ireland’s National Clinical Audit Management System (NCAMS) & Portal. Our key takeaway: NCAMS is an enabler of clinical governance, not simply a tech project. #HSENCCA #HSENQPS #HCI #ClinicalAudit #PatientSafety
Powerful insight @ISQua Conference by @MaryDixonWoods of the importance of understanding data to drive decision making & patient safety. #ISQUA2026 #patientsafety #DatadrivenDecisionMaking

Don’t let your life 'narrow'.
I’ve been an orthopedic surgeon for 30 years. The thing I watch happen to people — more than any injury or surgery — is what I call the narrowing.
Most of my patients have no idea it’s happening. They think it’s just aging. It’s not...

It’s been a great couple of days for Team Charlestown, with winners at @DundalkStadium on Friday night and Navan on Saturday!
𝗕𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗼 got us off the mark for the new flat season with an early winner at Dundalk. A great job in the saddle from @BenCoen2 Coen for owner Cristiana Rodrigues 🏆
The weekend got even better when 𝗠𝗼𝘂𝗱𝗮𝗻 notched his fourth win for us at Navan - he’s been a super servant for his owner-breeders Pat McCormack and Sarah Glynn.
Hats off to our own Eoghan Finegan on bringing him home in front 👏

2. A school jersey day, Friday March 20th, where kids wear their favourite jersey to school and donate 1 or 2 euro. They are really hoping for schools everywhere to participate in this.

“I’m 100 years old, and I adopted a 14-year-old dog whose family asked the shelter to put him down—just because he was “too old.” My name is Margaret, and most people think someone my age shouldn’t adopt a pet. But when I heard about Benson, a 14-year-old senior surrendered to a Texas shelter, I knew I wanted him. His family had asked the staff to euthanize him for no reason other than age. The shelter refused, believing he still had life left. When I met Benson, he leaned his head into my chest as if he already knew me. A senior dog and a senior woman—we connected instantly. Now Benson spends his days napping beside me, wearing sweaters to stay warm, and following me from room to room. People say I rescued him, but I disagree. Benson rescued me from loneliness. We’re giving each other a kind, calm final chapter.“
