Binance has begun recovering affected assets for users and continues to work with law enforcement, issuers, blockchain intelligence firms and industry partners to trace, freeze and recover additional funds.
The company has already publicly committed to cover losses through company funds in the prior announcement.
Binance has already reserved over $6.34B of company funds to cover this incident. $5B of these funds are already held in the exact token assets that were impacted. We are completing the purchase of the remaining amount by buying token assets through market channels and OTC channels. We are doing this to match the format of the remaining token assets and address any asset shortfalls. This step can take longer because some tokens may have low liquidity and OTC settlement also takes time. We will share more progress as soon as we can.
These figures do not include frozen or protected assets, which remain subject to ongoing recovery and verification. Currently, $3bn has been frozen, with thanks to our industry partners. We are working with partners and law enforcement to recover the frozen assets.We will continue to use company resources to cover confirmed shortfall and will provide further verified updates as recovery efforts progress. Ultimately, all user funds will be verified publicly through our Proof of Reserves.

Binance's initial investigation suggests that the security incident may involve a compromised DevOps engineer’s laptop, which allowed an attacker to gain access to a service container and submit unauthorized withdrawal transactions. We have found no evidence of any wallet private key leak. We will share a detailed technical post-mortem once the investigation is complete and the facts are fully verified.
The estimated total impact sits at around $6.3B. We have worked with blockchain partners to freeze affected assets, with ~$3 billion frozen on-chain so far.
Binance will cover all losses from the SAFU fund and the company’s funds. User funds are safe. We will also publish an updated Proof of Reserves once the remediation is complete.
As an immediate precaution, Binance has:
- temporarily suspended deposits and withdrawals while security checks are completed;
- revoked the affected address authorisation;
- engaged law enforcement and blockchain intelligence partners to trace and recover funds.
Our teams are working around the clock to resolve this issue safely and thoroughly. We are working closely with our law enforcement partners to confirm the identity of these criminals and bring them to justice.

Keystone arbeitet den Vorfall transparent auf. Was passiert ist:
1. Kundendaten aus dem Shopify-Shop, also nur Bestellungen über die Keystone-Website, nicht über Amazon oder andere Kanäle:
- 51.083 Käuferdatensätze waren betroffen. Davon waren 25.119 bereits anonymisiert.
- 25.964 Datensätze mit echten Daten (2024–2026): Name, Kontaktdaten, Lieferadresse, Bestelldaten.
- Zusätzlich 12.873 abgebrochene Checkouts mit Namen, Kontakt- und Adressdaten.
Der WebAuth-Schlüssel, mit dem Keystone die Echtheit der Geräte prüft. Er ist fest in jedes Gerät geschrieben und kann nicht geändert werden.
- Keystone wird mehrere tausende, hergestellte Geräte zerstören
Nicht betroffen (laut Keystone): Seed-Phrasen, private Schlüssel, Zahlungsdaten, Ausweisnummern.

Ich war letzte Woche auf der Ledger Op3n in Paris. Hier meine Einordnung, was Ledger vorgestellt hat und was davon für dich wirklich relevant ist.
Vorweg der Kontext: Die Op3n fiel mitten in eine Krise. Kurz vorher hat Ledger bestätigt, dass in Geräten aus dem Händlernetz in Asien manipulierte Hardware-Implantate steckten. Medien berichten von mehr als 87 Mio. $ Schaden.
𝗟𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘁𝗼𝗺
Das neue Gerät sieht aus wie ein Smartphone, ist laut Ledger aber keins. Im Kern ist es ein Ledger-Signer, auf dem auch Android-Apps laufen.
Für alles Sensible wechselt der Atom in einen abgeschotteten Secure Mode. Dann kontrolliert nur Ledger OS auf dem Sicherheitschip den Bildschirm.
Die wichtigsten Funktionen:
→ Ledger Wallet direkt auf dem Gerät, ohne Kabel und ohne zweites Gerät
→ Passkeys und Logins im Sicherheitschip
→ verschlüsselte Nachrichten, allerdings nur zwischen Atom-Nutzern
→ Hardware-Schalter für Kamera und Mikrofon
→ Solana-Seeker-App mit über 1.500 dApps vorinstalliert
→ Sensoren gegen Manipulation, die sogar im ausgeschalteten Zustand arbeiten

Was auch auf bestehenden Ledger-Signer laufen soll
Ehrlich gesagt finde ich diesen Teil spannender als den Atom.
→ Agent Intent: Dein KI-Agent bereitet eine Transaktion vor, zum Beispiel eine Rechnung in Stablecoins. Die Anfrage landet in einer Warteschlange, und du gibst sie auf deinem Nano oder Flex frei. Der Agent bekommt nie deine Schlüssel. Aber: Das ist eine Beta. Ledger rät selbst davon ab, es mit größeren Beträgen zu nutzen.
→ Connectivity: Du verbindest deinen Ledger direkt mit 1inch, Velora und jetzt auch Morpho, ohne MetaMask dazwischen. Die Transaktion siehst du im Klartext auf dem Display. Clear Signing statt Blind Signing ist immer ein Gewinn.
𝗙𝘂̈𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘀?
Der Atom richtet sich an aktive On-Chain-Nutzer, an Leute, die mit KI-Agenten arbeiten, und an Unternehmen. Ledger-CEO Pascal Gauthier sagt selbst: an alle, die heute schon ein zweites Handy für sensible Dinge herumtragen.
Wenn du ein paar Mal im Jahr Bitcoin oder Ether kaufst und langfristig hältst, brauchst du keinen Atom. Ein Nano macht den Kernjob weiterhin hervorragend, und zwar für einen Bruchteil des Preises.

Die Op3n 2026 war weniger ein Produkt-Launch als eine strategische Neuausrichtung. Ledger will vom Hardware-Wallet-Hersteller zur Sicherheitsplattform für das KI-Zeitalter werden.
Das Prinzip dahinter finde ich richtig: Der Agent schlägt vor, der Mensch entscheidet, die Hardware setzt es durch.
Und ganz unabhängig vom Gerät: Kauf deine Hardware Wallet nur direkt beim Hersteller.

Incident Update - Oct 13th, 2026
Ledger is asking resellers and distributors in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong to suspend sales of Ledger devices while the investigation is ongoing. This includes taking products off the shelves.
Specifically the countries are: Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.
To be clear, as the investigation continues, the only confirmed incidents remain contained to Southeast Asia. We have not verified a drain linked to a device bought elsewhere.
The investigation is ongoing to determine who tampered with these devices and where in the distribution chain it happened. The Ledger Donjon will analyze the devices it receives, and Ledger Customer Support will provide guidance to users who reach out through our official channel: support.ledger.com.
We understand this is concerning, and will continue to provide updates from the Ledger Donjon as the investigation progresses. Stay vigilant.
We have no indication that Ledger's infrastructure, systems or services or direct sales channel have been compromised.
