In September a provider on our site took a user's 0.574 BTC, moved the order to "confirming", then deleted it from their API and delivered nothing. Our own screen kept showing "confirming".
We spent two weeks changing how we work. Here is what changed, and what didn't. 🧵
Myth: "the exchange can follow my XMR after I withdraw."
It knows the tx it sent you. When you spend that output, it's 1 of 16 ring members: spend or decoy, it can't tell.
Weak spot: withdrawing and soon depositing back to the same exchange (the EAE heuristic).

should’ve used Monero: KYC.rip
A screenshot of a LoG proves nothing. Anyone can edit an image.
Ask for the PGP-signed text, import the operator's key from their own site, check the fingerprint, and verify the signature. Then save the letter before you pay.
We will be rolling out something for it.
we've paused Wagyu as a service provider. 200 completed orders routed in last 3 month.
your ip & browser fingerprints were not passed there, still, ditch/rotate your wallet address if you've used in that period.
Monero swap Wagyu leaked 3 months of order data after refusing a $5M ransom. Each order tied the deposit tx to the XMR receiving address and the user's IP, and "deleted" orders were still there.
Used it Aug-Oct? Treat that link as public. Grade: A- → C.

Myth: Monero has no supply cap, so it inflates forever.
Fact: since 2022 the reward is fixed at 0.6 XMR per blk, about 157,680 XMR a year. On ~19M XMR that is under 0.9%, it's declining as supply grows. It keeps paying miners to secure the chain.
