From Jennifer Eady, she is currently an airline stewardess for private jets, she flies regularly. The pilots on this private jet were on the radio with air traffic control while it fell from higher than Mount Everest to a Florida street in about 80 seconds. You can hear them realize they aren't going to make it. Their trouble started right after a request that sounds totally reasonable. They asked to fly higher. This was a Learjet 60 carrying nine people from Austin to the Bahamas, a little over two hours into the trip. When they checked in with Miami Center at 35,000 feet, they were getting bounced around hard enough to swing their altitude 600 to 700 feet. I was in Miami at the same time and we were almost 1.5 hours delayed to take off because of weather. They also had a thin layer of clear ice on the plane that the pilot called manageable. It was minus 47 Celsius outside. Then it started precipitating, so they asked to climb to 37,000 to get out of it, and Miami said okay. Climbing out of bad weather is standard stuff for pilots, and up that high it comes with a catch most of us have never heard of. The air is so thin that a jet has a weirdly small window of speeds it can safely fly. Go too slow and the wings stop holding it up, and if you go too fast, shockwaves start forming on the wings. Every thousand feet you climb, those two limits squeeze a little closer together. Pilots literally call the spot where they meet the coffin corner. A Learjet 60 normally cruises right around Mach 0.76, and its limit is 0.81. So even on a calm day it's flying pretty close to the edge, and turbulence knocks your airspeed up and down inside that window. Within seconds of starting the climb, the tracking data shows their groundspeed jumping from 437 to 505 knots as the jet started falling at almost 20,000 feet per minute. The pilot's mayday said the same thing. "We are in an overspeed condition, descending 20,000 feet per minute." Another call said they were banking. When you get those two at once, things get ugly fast. Once a jet blows past its speed limit, the wing can start pushing the nose down by itself, which adds speed, which pushes the nose down even harder. If the wings are tilted on top of that, the lift that normally holds the nose up is pointing off to the side. The nose keeps dropping and the plane winds into a spiral. Your gut tells you to pull back on the controls, and with the wings banked that mostly just tightens the spiral. You're supposed to level the wings first and only then pull up. Now try doing that inside a cloud where you can't see the horizon while the overspeed alarm is going off. By 12:49 Eastern they were down to 8,750 feet and dropping more than 32,000 feet per minute. That works out to about 360 miles an hour, straight down. At that speed the last 8,750 feet goes by in around 16 seconds. The dashcam video shows the jet coming in nearly vertical over Military Trail, with cars still driving on the road under it. It hit right next to a mobile home park. About 600 people who live there are being moved out, and officials say nobody on the ground was hurt, which is honestly hard to believe when you watch that fireball. The NTSB will probably take a year or more to officially say what caused this. The last thing on the radio was the controller repeating their tail number, November seven two two Bravo Delta, over and over, with nobody left to answer. So STOP with the conspiracy bs, this had nothing to do with President Trump or a missile. This was a tragic accident and people died. Their memory should not be desicrated by denying they existed. Give them the respect they deserve. Thank you 🙏🏻

This is the funniest thing I've seen here in a long long time.
Ok lads: imagine you aren’t horny at all. Not even slightly. You’re busy fixing a shelf or ironing your suit or watching your favourite TV show. Zero sexy feelings. Your girlfriend sighs loudly and goes “can we have sex now” in whingy voice and then grabs your ass. She then sulks and starts whining when you aren’t instantly aroused and into it and starts saying you haven’t had sex for 3 days. Annoying? Not very sexy? GOOD YOU UNDERSTAND WHY PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE INSTA-HORNY BEHAVIOUR IS ANNOYING

I am so glad this human trash is getting slammed.
A pilot should not: 🔘become hysterical 🔘speak too quickly to be intelligible 🔘say, "We're going to crash into the ground!" 🔘scream like a little girl 🔘hyperventilate 🔘scream like a little girl again A pilot needs a certain disposition. This is not it. That's the reality.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Having a front row seat to your own demise is an emotionally distressing experience and pilots have been known to scream in such situations. Western Airlines Flight 2605 being one such example. m.youtube.com/watch?v=FKLE_n…

I had my kids watch the animated The Hobbit (1977). I hadn't seen it in decades. It's a fairly faithful adaptation. Music a bit kitschy at times, but this music refrain in this clip is incredible. It's going to be stuck in my head the rest of the day. The kids liked the movie. They all want to read the book now.

Elder Gilbert speaks my kind of language. I am thankful he was called.
Find the Lord on the Frontier: With the dedication of the Cody Wyoming Temple, I think of the early families who helped establish The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints here in the Big Horn Basin. This was not an easy place to settle. The geographic isolation, arid climate with cold winters, and water scarcity all added to the challenges of building life. In many ways, the Big Horn Basin was the last Western frontier. Elder Kim B. Clark used to say that if you want to know the Savior, go to the frontier because that is where He does His work. It is where the greatest growth and development happens, and where He is most needed. Each of us has our own spiritual frontiers—uncharted territories—where we have never been and will need the Lord’s help to settle. The Lord will show us our own spiritual frontiers if we ask Him. He will take us to places that He wants us to go, and He will not leave us alone at the frontier.

The reaction to this post is fascinating. Apparently, citing church counsel is akin to throwing stones. It is also judging a person’s worth and worthiness and condemning them to hell. None of which Kimball did. He taught, warned, and exhorted, something he is explicitly asked to do in D&C 20 and in other scripture. As long as his motivation is love and truth, I don’t see anything wrong with it. What he posted was truth. I don’t know him well enough to know with surety his motivation, but based on his writings, I conclude his motivation was love. Could he have presented it differently? Sure. But harping on him about that point glosses over the truth he shared, which was likely motivated by love. And specifically about this subject, a man I taught on my mission developed a strong testimony of the restoration. It was the strongest I have ever witnessed. He went to the temple often, covered in tats. Worthy. But he counseled others not to get tattooed, because he was a changed man.
Just because it hasn’t been taught over the pulpit lately doesn’t mean it’s not in force. We learned this recently with gambling.

BREAKING: “Grand Theft Auto VI” could cost the US economy $1 billion in a single day. The long-awaited game drops Nov. 19, and up to 1.5 million Americans could call in sick or take the day off to play it, according to estimates cited by the International Business Times.

The Book of Mormon takes place in the ancient Americas and, like the Bible, was written by Jesus Christ's followers. It teaches His gospel and testifies of Him. As you live the teachings found in the Book of Mormon, you can find peace and truth. churchofjesuschrist.org/come…

I see a problem in the modern church that more pastors should address and one of the main reasons I stopped going to huge church gatherings. Woman and how they dress. It shocks me what some husbands and parents let their wives and teen girls wear to church. Modesty has been circumvented under the guise of expression and the lust demon uses it to torture men struggling with it. I don't want to see your cleavage or your camel toe when I come to seek the Lord and worship. If I am constantly challenged to avert my eyes, I'm just going to stay at home and open my bible and pray. Pastor's. Do better. Address this issue.

A dear friend of mine counseled me not to rush back into my career when my first son turned 5 and started school (even though we hadn’t had another child yet) but rather to pursue work that worked around his schedule so I could be there for him after school, and flexible enough to put him first always. She said, “Don’t worry, when he’s grown you have a half life ahead of you to pursue whatever interests you want, but you only get him for a short time.” She gave me the encouragement, and permission, to do what I wanted to do anyway… but felt that the world around me would judge me as lazy or foolish devoting myself to motherhood with only one child who was school aged. Turned out, it was the best advise. Some years later, my dear friend died of cancer. Her children were on the cusp of adulthood. It was a devastating loss. As I mourned my dear friend, this conversation kept coming back to my mind. I kept hearing, “you’ll have half a life left after your son is grown to pursue whatever interests you want…” My friend didn’t have that second half left. At first I fixated on that, and then a clear voice from Heaven said, “Stephanie! Do you really think (your friend) is in paradise thinking, ‘I wish I had spent more time on my own interest and pursuing a career’?” Absurd thought!!! Of course, I knew, instantly, the truth. I knew then and there that if it were me, if I could know that I would die young and this time was all I had — I would want nothing more than to be a good mom to my kids, to not have my attention divided from that most important work of love. The lesson was seared into my soul in that experience. There is nothing more important than the work, service, and love we give within our family — to our marriages and our children — to our extended family, and our faith communities. It people first! The jobs, the career, they are in the service of that. How that unfolds, how it looks, is different for different people. I did work, I went into education to sync my schedule with my son’s. A decade after my first son was born, I had my second miracle baby, and went home again; homeschooled him, tutored kids, ran homeschool cooperatives. Everything I did was built around the needs of my kids and the community that surrounded them. I have no regrets! Those earlier career aspirations seem a pale comparison to the life I’ve lived, the experiences that have shaped me, the talents I’ve discovered and developed, and most of all the relationships I’ve forged by giving my whole life to those who matter most. If you aren’t blessed yet with the children you desire to hold and nurture; throw your love and life into your marriage, your church, your community, and the development of yourself for the lifting of others in anyway the Lord directs. There is tender mercy and divine compensations for all worthy selfless living; and there are needy children and youth who need mentors — encouragement and guidance. So be actively engaged in raising up the next generation in any way you are able, and/pr making the world a better place for their future.
I’ve never heard anyone say “I wish I had focused more on my career instead of having kids.”

Many husbands are not starving for sex alone. They are starving for the feeling that their wife actually wants them.

Yup. What he said 👇
For any of my followers who might not already know. A dear, dear friend of mine and a WONDERFUL family man, Keith Malinak, suffered a severe stroke last week. Keith is a husband, father of three and a proud puppy papa as well. Keith is ONLY 50 years old and VERY health conscious, so to say this was unexpected would be an understatement. A GiveSendGo has been established to help the family with the pending onslaught of extensive medical bills, so if you haven't already given and could find it in your heart to donate, they could REALLY use it. The Malinak family are GOOD people, so any help financially AND prayerfully you could offer them would be SO appreciated. Thank you, God Bless You & please pray for a #MalinakMiracle. givesendgo.com/help-keith-ma…

Good grief! What a narcissistic crybaby.
Update: After carefully reviewing the 2,000+ comments from relationship experts, marriage counselors, child psychologists, and people who have never met me, my wife, or my kids, I have decided to stay married after all. I had no idea that “drifting apart” was code for “you’re a weak cuck whose wife is already soft-launching her work husband.” Thank you for the diagnosis. I’ll just schedule a rekindle date night, suck it up, and ignore the fact that two adults mutually decided this wasn’t working. Turns out the only correct choice is to stay in a relationship neither of us wants so random people on the internet don’t feel sad about my daughters. Also, special thanks to everyone who explained that selling the house is me “forcing the kids out of their family home.” You’re right—houses are sacred and can never be replaced by any other structure where the same parents still love and raise the same kids. I’ll just keep the house forever even if we’re not living in it as a couple. Easy. And of course, the most important insight: my daughters are now permanently and irreversibly broken for the rest of their lives. Childhood ended the second we told them. Every future relationship, career, and mental health outcome is already ruined. Doesn’t matter that we’ll still both be actively raising them, that there were no fights, or that plenty of kids turn out fine after amicable divorces—those real-world details are irrelevant next to the expert consensus of strangers on X. The trauma is locked in forever. My bad. And to the people calling this attention-seeking: yes, I posted a short update because people were asking where I’d been, then immediately got ratioed by thousands of strangers who definitely care deeply about the emotional well-being of children they’ve never met. Totally normal and not at all performative. Appreciate all the unsolicited advice. The girls and I are doing fine. I’ll be back when I need more life coaching from anonymous accounts.

This is a dumbass reason to divorce and ruin lives This guy has taught his kids to give up. Love sometimes is not a feeling. It is a choice. For me, 20 years of marriage, with the same woman, and we have produced six kids. Marriage is hard at times, but it is worth fighting for. I never want to wuss out like this guy. My wife is worth choosing.
My wife and I decided to get a divorce. There were no fights, just two adults who realised they drifted apart from each other. This is probably the hardest thing I had to go through. First of all, telling our girls...seeing them so sad was heartbreaking. But we are still a team as parents and will do everything for them! Also we have to sell our house, the house I wanted to live in forever and raise my kids in... Going back to a smaller appartment will be rough. I still have a lot of to handle, that's why I wasn't active here on X. I'm really grateful for all the people who reached out and asked where I was 🙏🏼 This women will always be a part of my life, she gifted me with two perfect daughters. I wish her all the best, great memories were made in those years! I'll be back soon. Thank you everyone 🙏🏼

Coincidentally, or maybe not, I just watched this movie with my teens. I haven't been able to get this scene out of my head all day. When we believe we have an "out," we find reasons to use it. When we don't believe we have an "out," we find a way to make things work. We choose love, despite challenges. The whole movie is great. As a dad and husband who is still learning to become better, I love the character of Tom.
