Our first doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine arrived this morning. The first UW Health employees will receive the vaccine this afternoon, following federal and state guidelines to begin vaccinating frontline healthcare workers.

This graph really highlights the importance of keeping up social distancing and mask wearing in (at least) the first two weeks following the first dose of the vaccine. You don't get immunity right away. Vaccine = blue 🔵 Placebo = red 🔴
No words needed. That's what vaccines do.

Another amazingly salient piece from @edyong209. It's gut-wrenching to see how many things could have been done better. theatlantic.com/magazine/arc…

This week on "Is this the geom that I want?" This is not the geom that I want. With everyone showing their very polished #TidyTuesday graphs, I thought I would show that stuff like this happens sooo much on the way to the final product. It's the best way to learn IMO! #rstats

If anyone is wondering, I somehow passed the lat and long coordinates for each volcanic eruption to geom_polygon() which generated this beautiful monstrosity.

Finally worked on a #TidyTuesday data set since this week's was #animalcrossing themed! I looked at the distribution of villager birthdays by date and found: - There are no days with >= 3 bdays - 6/7 Lion villagers are Leos (dammit Mott) #rstats code: bit.ly/2SJg1fS

This also brings up and interesting variant to the famous Birthday Problem. With 391 villagers, what is the probability that no three (or more) villagers share a birthday if we assume birthdays are randomly distributed? @wilcoxl22 @TheStatsMedic you may like this
