building a startup is like building a bear but the store closes in 10 minutes, mom isn’t back from macy’s and won’t answer her phone, and the smoothie stand across the way is packing up their fruit

every week i put my bots through a survivor-like ritual where they vote off the weakest @bot that then creates a copy of itself with a farewell before i delete it

good design is contextual, and a big part of context is time. models know the principles, but they can't really attune to the moment, which is a bigger gap than people realize
Love this quote from Dylan and very much agree! "And there's other things where designers, with lateral thinking and context and past experience, just have these skills that models do not have, and are able to make associations with real-world inputs that are moments in culture, or the feeling that you're trying to evoke."

reality check for software co’s: the only way you’ll keep users is if your products continue to be best-in-class for producing / creating net new data. arbitrarily gating access is a losing game.

timing matters: the ex-cmo of cingular wireless was only 20yrs away from a multigenerational run of “welcome to the cingularity” campaigns

attention -> intention economy
one of the most underrated shifts happening now is that ai is separating consumption from attention. i.e. historically in order to extract any real value from anything you consume, you had to give attention to that content directly (often painstakingly). this meant you had to sit there sifting through ads, sponsor messages, hidden promotions, filler content, & often crazy amounts of repetition too. agents break this relationship entirely. they *extract* value without requiring attention from *you*. that has a potentially devastating impact for any business that monetizes based on time spent rather than value delivered. it's like adblock on steroids for everything.

it feels like agent memory reproducibility will be a big problem. i've caught lightning in a bottle with this team of designer agents after many rounds of refinement and don't know if i'll be able to reliably reproduce them for other projects.

insane that anyone can whip up animations like this now

if ai can help someone identify and articulate the qualities they like in others, which could in turn lead to a greater appreciation and understanding, then i think that’s a good thing actually

the only 2 apps i use regularly now: @bot and a little app i cooked up to speak to each of my bots across all accounts, and it even works with the @pebble ring 💍 if you’re a grok bot power user and wanna test it out, let me know

idea: a gofundme for reverse engineering. upload app, get token spend estimate, share campaign, funds get sent to a smart contract that triggers an agentic workflow.
We've decided to sunset Arc on December 22, 2026. That's not an easy sentence to write. We spent years building Arc and celebrating each and every release along the way: we have so much pride and love for what we made alongside the Arc community. Our priority is to deliver best-in-class security for our members. Keeping a browser secure takes constant, dedicated work that is only increasing in the age of AI. Dia was built from the ground up to meet today’s security standards, so that's where our engineering and security teams will focus moving forward. We've worked to make switching to @diabrowser as easy as possible for Arc members. Here's how: · Your passwords, bookmarks, extensions and history come over to Dia seamlessly. · Spaces, Folders, and Tab Groups are in Dia and import over with your data intact. · Dia now surpasses Arc benchmarks in stability, speed, and security. · The browser features you use in Arc are free in Dia, and the AI is optional. Thank you for using Arc, for pushing us to make it better, and for building alongside us. The team that made Arc is the same team behind Dia, and some of our most ambitious work is just ahead. We'd love for you to be there with us when it lands.

grok bot webhooks have huge potential and i’m surprised others are lagging on this

software is no longer a moat for consumer devices. it will be reverse-engineered. the only thing that’ll matter is industrial design, component selection, and manufacturing quality.

Ok fun progress I got the sensor data from AirPods now adding pencil Next will look into how much data I need and what I’ll have to do on model side

I reverse engineered Pocket and made it 10X better. Right now: the app is full of ads, the microphone is low quality, it constantly misspells peoples names, and has no agentic features. I changed that.

agentic workflow time compression will require higher decision velocity that i think will paradoxically burn out a lot of people. there’s human value to mind-numbing work.
