Really is a shame and it doesn’t get talked about enough just how unlucky and unfortunate the 2020’s went for him, despite having one of the greatest peaks of all-time. Murray’s ACL took them out of contention for 2 years after a WCF appearance. Then you win a title when he comes back, and no one wants to count bc Boston played with their food. And then they couldn’t stay healthy with cheap owners and a foolish GM. Now at 31, not physically where he was 3 years ago, and the team is substantially worse so defensive schemes can truly wear him out. When you see 3 MVP’s, 1 Championship and Finals MVP, it’s an incredible feat, but when you really think about it, he should’ve had much more than that, but so many elements out of his control cost him. The thought of him being a what-if type player with the peak that he had, averaging triple-doubles and not fully maximizing that is insane and a massive shame on the Nuggets front office.
