Regardless of what happens today we will still face bombing, hunger and still be under siege.

hopefully, if/when Netanyahu loses, the myth propagated by liberals that he alone is the problem, & not merely a symptom of a systemic genocidal logic, will die...

tbh, it is not for nothing that Marx said "workers of the world unite!"...capital knows no borders & neither does fascism (capital's logical end)...
Earnest take: I think it’s probably not healthy for the practice of democratic self-government that so many people have developed strong rooting interests in elections in countries they don’t live in.

When the Oxford children's dictionary discarded dozens of nature-words—"dandelion," "fern," "starling"—as irrelevant to children's imagination and replaced them with words like "broadband" and "cut-and-paste," this inspired act of resistance was born: themarginalian.org/2019/06/1…

voting for Lana Nusseibeh as SG to advance "women's empowerment" in the UN is fem-washing. the UAE loves to use women as props to hide its neocolonialism by appealing to liberal ideals of representation. no one cares that she's a woman, we care that she is promoting genocide...

Muammar Ibrahim was the voice of Elfashir, the loudest journalistic voice reporting out of the city. Not only did he report on the realities of the 18-month siege, he lived them, wasting away as the RSF starved & choked the life out of Elfashir. #ElfasherRed #KeepEyesOnSudan
Today marks one year since Sudanese journalist Muammar Ibrahim was abducted. #FreeThePress Read more ⤵️ cpj.org/data/people/muammar-…

‘The contempt for the Sudanese victims of the UAE is exceptionally bewildering even in an era of outrages. Nusseibeh’s appointment can only be secured by stepping over the dead, and turning backs on the living.’
‘The appointment of Nusseibeh, who has been the face of the UAE’s Sudan strategy, would be a slap in the face to the millions of people suffering the horrors of war, and a dereliction of duty towards those thousands who have already been killed.’ theguardian.com/commentisfre…

Lula da Silva with Prof Samir Amin #RIP. I believe this meeting took place in 1999 under the auspices of the Frente de Esquerda in Brazil.

the siege of El-Fasher should have been a turning point in the war in Sudan / it should have been enough to indict the UAE & RSF / a city held under siege for over 500 days (ending in Oct 25')--ppl malnourished, murdered & raped / instead it was an event that passed w/o incident

Elon Musk found us here. We’re indigenous to this land.
If people dislike Elon Musk so much, why do they still use the platform he owns?

I know up is down these days but serenading the UN for a position when you undermined the same institution and rejected the UN Panel of Experts’ findings on UAE links to the RSF to run cover for your government’s calamitous role in Sudan’s war is an outrage and an insult.
I've spent much of my life in and around the @UN. What stays with me most is its people: colleagues who, in the world's hardest places, deliver food and medicine, protect civilians and help parties take the first steps towards peace. The UN was never meant to agree with the world. It was built to help the world agree. This UN Day, I remain confident in what the United Nations can achieve - and in the future we can build when it acts early, supports its personnel, and measures success by what changes on the ground. #UNDay

Yet Sudan's gov says they don't expect a bad harvest, continuing a trend of denying famine because of the foreign attention it invites. Aid budgets are too small to cope anyways. As the country produces less, and is able to imoprt less, we are heading for a nationwide disaster.

if the UN confirms an Emirati as Secretary-General it will be the final nail in the coffin, confirming that the UN has never been more than a post-WWII racket designed to maintain Euro-American hegemony. Palestine showed this juridically, & Sudan will confirm it administratively.

As drone warfare expands in Sudan and as drones are killing more and more of our people we need to remember the weapons manufacturing companies that are benefitting from it. Among them is Elbit, Isr@el's largest defense contractor with subsidiaries in Canada, US and the UAE.

They’re all bad. The sooner you accept that fact, the clearer your vision will be, and the easier you will dodge the crash of disappointment and disillusionment. Until then, you’re setting yourself up for failure.
