Let me be as clear as I possibly can, with no room for ambiguity.
If you are Canadian and you support us becoming a state, then you are a traitor.
There is no middle ground, nor is there anything to discuss.
I will not engage with traitors.
My nephew made it safely to Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu today. CAF members and veterans know what that means.
So, in order to fill Trump's rallies, he has to make sales calls to bring people in. Then he has them vetted for loyalty. Then, if they aren't sufficiently loyal at the rally, he has presidential security have them removed.
Sounds like a winning platform to me.
The guy who compared a Trump rally to Jonestown on live Fox News was invited by the Trump campaign. They called his work phone on Monday and asked him to come.
His name is Tom Hoyle. He's 57 and runs a small custom printing shop in Charlotte called MadPark Designs with his business partner. He's hated Trump since 1989, back when he was a sophomore in college. And he really, really doesn't like getting sales calls on the shop line, from anybody.
So when the rally people called, he said yes. He even signed up with his real name and contact info, because he wanted it on the record that they invited him.
Then he had to get through the door. A private security guy asked him straight up if he was a Trump supporter. Tom told him he supports the Constitution, then started talking about his shirt, which was for an old death metal band called Death. He kept going about the history of Florida death metal until the guard gave up and let him in.
His plan going in was honestly pretty juvenile. He and a buddy he grew up with figured he'd wait a few minutes into the speech and yell something filthy.
Then a Fox News reporter, Lucas Tomlinson, found him standing off by himself and asked if he could interview him live. Tom thinks a white guy with a big beard and a ball cap was pretty much exactly what they were looking for.
He told himself he wasn't going to cuss on national TV, so he made it up on the spot. He says the first line and then just waits. The reporter goes "Wait, the Jonestown Massacre?" and that's when he finishes it.
He told The Handbasket he picked that up from Billy Crystal, who said on Letterman back in the '80s that you always let the other guy set up your punchline. Tomlinson set it up for him perfectly.
A few minutes later some men who said they were Secret Service pulled him aside. He asked if this was about the concession stand, because it closed early and he was starving. They didn't love that and walked him out. On his way out he passed the guard from the front door and told him, hey man, you didn't vet me too well.
Think about how many people had a shot at stopping this. The campaign's call list found him. The signup form had his name. A guard questioned him to his face. A Fox crew put him on live TV. Every one of them took one look at the beard and the hat and filled in the rest.
That's how almost all of this screening works. Asking somebody what they actually believe takes time, and looking at them takes a second, so everybody just looks.
The one check that actually caught him came after he'd already said it on national TV.

Bob Ross is actually a perfect example to show why art lovers are unimpressed by AI art. Bob Ross is not famous for his paintings. He is famous for his videos in which he showed *how* he made his paintings. The process matters!

Fun fact. Guns are just a modern method to throw really small rocks very very fast.

I'm just going to point out that there are two people at the start of this hike.
A week after a major training accident, where four soldiers lost their lives and forty more were seriously injured, the so-called ambassador decides to offer assistance.
Unfortunately, he decided diplomatic protocol is for other people, and bypassed the Government.
Our prayers remain with all affected by the tragedy at @CanadianForces Base Wainwright. To support the recovery of soldiers affected by traumatic burns, the U.S. government has made a formal offer of assistance and resources to the Government of Canada, should it be deemed necessary.

If you have five minutes available grab a snack. If you have ten, grab a nap
Some of the best advice I received before I joined the Army was, βsleep when and where you can.β
I became a master of the power nap.
10 minute bus ride to the range? Nap.
Done qualifying and sitting in the bleachers? Nap.
I had an MRI recently. As soon as I was inside? Nap.
Going to sleep quickly is the one of the best things Iβve learned in the Army.

A moment of silence for all the Alberta separatists who will go offline today.π’
Why does everyone seem to want answers RIGHT NOW to a deadly incident three days ago? Do people no longer understand that investigations take time?
This is real life, not an episode of CSI.
Anybody who feels the need to claim CFB Wainwright to be a "false flag" or "perfectly timed to disrupt the referendum" or any other bullshit like that should go find their nearest CAF veteran and say it to their face.
Fucking cowards posting that bullshit online.

Were told pretty early that there was no evidence of a deliberate act by an outside group. To me, that's all I'm owed by the govt now. All the other info will come. Caring thoughts to all involved. My curiosity doesn't give me a right to know immediately.

Information about the significant incident at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright continues to be limited. A quick summary of what is currently known for those checking in this morning:
An incident occurred at CFB Wainwright, about two hours East of Edmonton, yesterday that has resulted in fatalities and injuries and led to a significant response by local and provincial emergency services, the CAF, and the Government of Canada.
The incident involved a fire that started in the training area of CFB Wainwright around 4pm local time, and quickly spread due (in part) to high winds. The fire spread outside the base fence line to the South, and did not enter the town of Wainwright itself. Over night, officials confirmed that the fire was now "held".
This information has been provided directly through DND's or the Municipal District of Wainwright's official channels and can be treated as likely reliable, although even official sources sometimes get specific information incorrect initially.
Multiple media sources are reporting that the incident has overwhelmed local health care services and improvised sites (ie. The local school) are being used as part of providing medical care. Multiple hospitals in Edmonton have received or are expecting patients and have initiated mass casualty protocols that include asking local residents to seek care through other avenues where possible due to capacity limitations. These appear to be reliable indicators that the even has a high number of casualties.
I can find evidence in Edmonton of similar protocols being activated for incidents involving ~20 significant injuries, but not at as many facilities. I would suggest that figure can, therefore, be treated as a likely floor for the number of serious injuries that are being transported to Edmonton in relation to this incident. That is my analysis and should not be treated as fact without further confirmation.
Global News began reporting over night that at least seven individuals were killed, and dozens were injured in an explosion that initiated this incident. They are also reporting that the explosion was caused by live-fire training that hit a gas line or gas well which appear confirmed to exist on the base (though it's less clear what exists in the precise area of the incident). Global News attributes this information to multiple unnamed sources.
Global News a major media outlet with institutional editorial standards, however, it's notable that other major news organization are not reporting this except by referencing Global News directly. It seems unlikely that Global News has been uniquely able to speak to unnamed sources, suggesting this information is on the fringe of meeting reporting standards. It should be taken seriously, but also treated cautiously until independently confirmed.
Multiple air ambulance type aircraft have been tracked arriving in Wainwright since the incident, and various videos showing multiple conventional ambulances responding are also circulating. These appear to be genuine reports, however, the exact significance of the scale of of the response is somewhat open to interpretation. This should be treated as raw data that requires careful interpretation.
A C-130 aircraft from Winnipeg, using identification information that matches an aircraft belonging to 435 Search and Rescue Squadron was tracked last night heading towards Wainwright. This should also be treated as raw data.
On the ground reporting indicates that a number of CAF personnel parachuted into the area near the hospital. This would align, somewhat, with the C-130 flight, as the aircraft can deploy SAR Techs, who are high readiness personnel with significant medical expertise, this way.
*In an earlier version of this post I suggested treating these reports as possible but suspect. However, there appears to be at least one still-photo image of a person in the air under a canopy from the incident. I would therefore amend that evaluation and call this reporting likely.*
I have seen some discussion of the specific unit(s) involved in the incident. While I have high confidence that publicly available information provides this information, I'd discourage everyone from naming a unit until this is officially confirmed. Allow notification processes to take place, please.
That's the morning update based on what I can confirm. I will attempt to monitor the situation throughout the day and provide updates, but I am doing this independently without support or compensation -- it's possible I may be slower than other sources in order to meet the level of confirmation I believe it appropriate before sharing information.

The RUMINT is out of control and I think the worst part for me is that guys who did time in Afghanistan and should know better are pumping info and posting on socials.
Time for bed.
