Yesterday I had the pleasure of presenting my work at @ibc2024 . Now I am ready for the next stage, I am still looking for a PhD, and I am open to opportunities (different families and topics). Now I live in Berlin, and I am available for opportunities.

4 years in the making but here it is - proposed in 2020 and now approved- a new type species of #Ipomoea! This brings to an end 50 years of a nomenclatural glitch that prevented taxonomic changes in the genus. Strong science, collaboration and perseverance turned into result!

This has to be the best new type species announcement photo in the history of botany.

Our Nepenthes genome paper is now formally published! We report how genes related to their novel traits, such as dioecy and the trapping pitcher, evolved within the decaploid genome of this iconic carnivorous plant lineage.

Edeline Gagnon @EdelineGagnon continues at the evolution session at #SOL2023_Montreal presenting the functional diversification of underground organs in Solanum species. They classify into rhizomatous (180) and storage organs (121). They have different ecological identities.

When making large-scale taxonomic changes, it's important to consult the community that works with the group and consider the array of implications for those modifications. Well done to the team of authors who got together in this proposal - and Lauren and Ana for the leadership.
Proud to see this paper out! Our proposal is the result of a multi-year long global partnership among Convolvulaceae specialists. We stand by its importance for advancing systematic progress in Ipomoea - while preserving the name of the crop sweetpotato. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…
