ALT "To empower teachers, I try to make sure our conversations around areas for growth are grounded in empathy and shared experiences. I’ve been there, too and acknowledge it is HARD work. Keep it focused on what our students are telling us they need, not what we’re doing 'wrong.' Notice what the students are doing. One great thing about observations is that we can be that second set of eyes – as a teacher you can’t always see how all students are responding, but we leaders can be that support for teachers to identify what STUDENTS need." ––AP Jill Tully

Thought for this first week of school: @AmyWelzenbach gifted this wonderful artwork to me long ago. I keep it at school as a constant reminder that to achieve learning outcomes, children first need to feel safe, welcomed, and that we care. #WeMoveForwardTogether #WeAreSherlock
