As a homicide detective, I can say with all of my being that there is no lesson learned in seeing someone die. But there is a price. And that price is your peace. Your decency. And the soul of our society. We don’t have to be this way, this fake tough but real ugly way. Stop
Breaking news: The firing squad execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan will be live-streamed, the Defense Department said. “People need to understand that there’s serious consequences for these types of things,” Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said. wapo.st/4hNxK0C

This is another step in the Nazi direction of normalizing public executions, make no mistake. These are Nazis wrapped in an American flag, carrying a Bible. Absolutely disgusting.
Pete Hegseth says Americans will be able to watch a Trump-approved firing-squad execution. If he follows through, the U.S. could join a disturbing club of countries known for public executions—including Iran, Afghanistan, and North Korea. meidasnews.com/news/hegseth-…

A couple of Canadian kids created a Maga Monopoly game and called it "American Dictator." The cards include "Quiet Piggy" (only you can speak), and a redacted card (no one knows what it says). You can buy a Supreme Court Justice. They donate proceeds to local food banks. 🇨🇦❤️‍

As a person in long-term recovery, this is pretty damn cool. ❤️🇨🇦 Prime Minister Mark Carney recognizing September as National Recovery Awareness Month. Recovery deserves to be recognized, recovery deserves to be celebrated, and recovery is possible. I’m living proof. ❤️

Slightly more than 10,000 people showed up at the #ForeverCanadian Unity Concert in Calgary yesterday. Great Canadian music, friendship and patriotism brought us all together. Thank you artists, volunteers and Calgarians for your support!!! #CdnPoli

That 8 million number was debunked in February 2025, it is every federal agency's combined subscription spending, not a subsidy to keep Politico alive. Recycling a debunked claim as new evidence of corruption does not make it true.

I watched K. Hillman this afternoon. The former Ambassador to the US, who was involved with the negotiations. She said they all had to sign confidentiality agreements, both sides. So Mark Carney cannot "come clean". What a stupid thing for Scheer to say.

My fellow Canadians. I urge you to listen to our Prime Minister's 15 minute remarks. I did. While Trump can only do bullshit memes, Prime Minister Carney outlines serious policy to build our nation stronger and withstand the Americans. Nous sommes maîtres chez nous.

Tomorrow, we’re heading out into Nuuk Fjord. Today, I stopped by the local store and bought some chocolate imported from Canada for the trip — just a small personal gesture to show my support and solidarity with our good neighbours in Canada. 🇨🇦🇬🇱

Canada’s Conservatives are pressing Mr. Carney to release the text of the agreement he refused to sign. Our NYT reporting shows that the two negotiating teams signed confidentiality agreements (a requirement that is apparently standard in Trump administrations).

here's a plot of US trade balance for 2000-June 2026 in automotive sector compiled from monthly US data, showing the major trading groups: Canada, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, EU and Other. It is impossible to look at this data and arrive at the conclusion that Canada is the problem. There are long-term large structural automotive trade deficits with EU and Japan, and now South Korea. All three groups are large automotive exporters with virtually no imports. There's an obvious reason why they didn't retaliate to US tariffs: why bother? they don't import any US automotive anyway. The big structural change in past 25 years has been the development of an enormous Mexican surplus in automotive. Mexico imports of US automotive are minute in comparison to their exports, so, once again, why bother retaliating. Canada, on the other hand, is a very large importer of US automotive - the largest in the world. Its automotive industry is integrated with the Michigan industry. Both are adversely impacted by the huge Mexican export trade. But whatever else this data shows, it doesn't show that Canada is "ripping off" anybody.

Did you know that American ports refuse to ship out coal for environmental reasons so we ship their coal out via Roberts Bank Superport in the Vancouver area? This needs to end. Either tax them or refuse to ship out their coal. Tariffs aren’t the only economic weapon we wield.

A $60 billion trade deficit with Canada is money that America was free to spend in any way it chooses. No force, no coercion. America chose to buy Canadian because it was the best value product(s) available.

Canada wouldn’t even have a trade deficit if we didn’t buy so much oil and electricity from them. They have been the #1 importer of U.S. goods for DECADES. 🤦‍♂️🙄
