Today is World Wetlands Day. Nearly 90% of the world’s wetlands have been degraded since the 1700s. Yet, wetlands are critically important ecosystems. Vernal pools can be one of the most difficult wetlands to protect due to their ephemeral nature. #VernalPools #Conservation

This weekend I checked out one of Muskegon County's "newer" nature preserves (2015) yesterday, Anderson Woods, near Duck Lake State Park! What a great little 80-acre gem. Beautiful moss, fungi and SNOW fleas! 🐜 The temps yesterday were ideal for the little buggers! 🍃 #harmless
