Apparently, raising independent kids requires a surprising amount of assistance. 😂
Sometimes you let them figure it out.
And sometimes you make 17 phone calls and ask for the supervisor.

We’re conditioned to fix things as parents.
Like… from day one.
They cry—we pick them up.
They’re hurt—we make it better.
That’s what we do.
But nobody really talks about this part…when they get older and you can’t fix it.

Yes, I’m a middle/RS, but this year, my high school coach said he needed me to play outside, as well. Sooo….

Like me, @JoyAnnReid is a kid of immigrants from a former European colony who went to Harvard. Unlike me, she benefited from affirmative action because she counts as “black” & in her own words wouldn’t have gotten in without it. She complains that her peers looked at her differently because of it. That’s surely true, I just draw a different conclusion: there’s no better way to foster racial condescension than to disadvantage others based on their skin color. Time to achieve colorblind meritocracy, once & for all. Joy Reid talks about me on air, but hasn’t yet had me on for a debate. From one alum to another: the offer stands.
Congrats to @parishepiscopal varsity volleyball’s Coach David for the national win with his club team. Awesome job, Coach!!! – at Dallas, TX
