Google the 227 incident and figure out how ao3 got banned from China…

my real genuine concern is that this ao3 and ""protection"" for fanworks discourse is just gonna blow up on all of our faces because one bad actor actually reported another person out of spite directly to an ip's legal team mid argument and now everyone is going to hell

ppl on bringing up the ao3 download button to make authors look stupid when in reality the overwhelming majority of writers are talking about uploading fics to the google drive without permission and i think it actually says a lot that you need to twist the narrative so much

it’s painful to see bunch of authors are saying they will drop & delete ao3 fics once it’s back bc of some stupid selfish people 😔 Those Asian authors believe Western culture encourages individualism but got warped into selfishness. Hence they are turning away from ao3…

24k likes on this insanity tweet… And with Austin as pfp… I was happy when Ao3 was considered as a safe haven that many would move their work there Thanks to these 24k ppl, we gonna have go back in time to find good fics in crevices and deep waters again

“i didn’t consent to people sharing my work” you kinda did when you uploaded it to the public archive with the big download button on it

AI scrapers vibecoding sites and getting likes & rt… when AI is likely the reason why AO3 is going down for so long in the first place

好，我知道可能很多人不喜歡，但我還是要說說關於「ao3爭議事件」的看法 首先我發現很多人搞混一個概念：同人創作（fanfic）有兩層著作權。

Growing up hearing “Wikipedia isn't a valid source” and then entering a workplace where people say “just ask ChatGPT” is a surprisingly strange timeline

Imo this is somewhat more gruesome than Clayface Talks about life & death, father & son, love & pain… more relatable = more hurt
