this is important.
regardless of what everyone says here, COMPANIES ARE ACTUALLY HIRING, and the job market is decent.
in last few months, we have seen a lot of orgs winding down or layoffs. the job market was absolutely brutual start of the year from January to maybe May.
but currently, there are a lot of companies hiring in ai and some in crypto as well.
but what changed?
- the barrier of entry as compared to 2022: this is probably biggest pain point for people looking jobs in crypto. back in 2022, the bar for your first job in crypto was in the hell. everyone actually did get hired because people from web2 wouldn't move. so eventually, college graduates would get a job readily or anyone who could understand crypto a bit.
- those who stayed: as crypto matured and ai took over, the people who stayed are the ones who got really good in their fields: engineering, marketing, growth etc etc. these are the people who are still working at bigger orgs because they got sharp senses and resistant towards high volatility of market. these are same folks who will get a job in less than few weeks if they leave their current orgs.
- level of seniority + experience: because ai has become exponentially smarter, most of the jobs are senior level. the reason is simple: anyone can build a website, a growth plan, a marketing campaign plan with ai now. it's stupidly easy. what they cant build without experience is the level of efficiency and have fast comprehension. this only comes with experience.
- building in public: back in 2022, everyone said that matters. i dont believe it does so much in 2026. anyone can build now or ideate now.
- crypto to ai: this specific pipeline is stronger now. ai is having 2022 moment of crypto. too many positions open, need of great talent, not enough to fill in. why tho? people in web2 are still boomers. startups in ai need startup minded folks, not corpo and hence the hiring from crypto to ai is much better.
connections: i think this matters a lot currently, and the reason is simple. everyone is applying to jobs with claude/gpt. recruiters are tired to see 1000 applications in 1 hour. connections, and i mean real connections, help you cut through the noise. getting thru the interview rounds is still on you.
most important: HIGH AGENCY. i think i have said it before, but it's not your skillset or degrees anymore. it's your high agency that matters. can you do xyz in 1 day? hired. can you not be claude depended, read thru what it said, and argue that what you think is better? hired. can you deliver and have convictions in your vision? hired.
sorry for a long tweet. tldr: you will get hired if you are not an overly dependent ai childbaby.

Crypto hiring activity is surprisingly brisk
That’s what I’m seeing first hand
Regardless of how the project layoffs and sunset situations may seem on X, startups are still scaling and adding headcount
In my experience this month a serious hiring manager would arrange for round 3 interview within the same week and might offer u 2 roles to pick from
There are also plenty of roles that aren’t listed but would be created for the right person whose work the founder liked
Even though my grok bot job finder agent hit rate was poor, it is only a numbers game and if I ran it longer and sharpened it further I would have uncovered more roles
Because there is no way I am filling up my calendar this fast if the job market was bleak
Not everyone can join a big AI lab for a 7 fig package, but crypto projects are still sniping talent and urgently trying to get u on a call
I am grateful for everyone who linked me up with someone else or invited me for a chat directly
terrible take, imagine working full time to scale a brand 0-1 and the team also expect you to invent another 40hr+ per week to scale yourself
surely you want the person to be 100% all in on YOUR brand, not their own
which are you paying them for?
it me!

so many micro-reasons for this but here's the headlines
1. institutional adoption of crypto = shift to traditional working practices
2. big tech RTO boom (2024-2025), the world is telling us 100% remote doesn't work, even in tech
3. NK remote hackers disguised as regular folk
I get more engagement on LinkedIn posts complaining about LinkedIn than I do on posts advertising high-paying jobs
and that's (probably) a massive part of what is wrong with todays job market

Hey so like what’s up with everyone’s situational awareness. It has gotten really bad. No one seems to understand anymore that there’s other people on the earth with them. Look up from your phone! People are in front or behind you.

Tired of Angel checks, angel investors. Now is the time of devil checks, for demon investors

The hardest skill to learn for crypto socials is not taste, or distribution, or memes.
It's how to calculate timezones when half your team is at an event in Asia.
she should be 'oscar nominated actress Julia Garner' for the now-scrapped Madonna biopic but instead they have her doing this cryptobroslop
