“Moral shock.” My therapist, after a narcissist led to my breakdown, said: People who are driven by community values fare worse because they go into
moral shock. They expect everyone to follow normal behaviours and societal rules. I think many of us are in moral shock today.

Today is a hard day. We may be heartbroken & discouraged, but we still have a country to care about.
I want to thank every person who worked their heart out, volunteering & fighting for our future. Take a deep breath, take care — our children & grandchildren are relying on us.

But it’s impossible not to see that last night’s national defeat was also very much a NY story. This was our state’s worst presidential result since 1988. We lost ground in almost every NYC neighborhood & every demographic. To say a major reckoning is due is an understatement. /3

Trump has won twice against women candidates. And lost overwhelmingly to a man. Everyone is going to try to find the reason as to why when truly none of them add up to the turnout for him from certain demos. It’s staring us in the face and it’s really that simple.

Rest in peace, Quincy…
In honor of his legacy, here’s a throwback to an incredible moment:
Quincy Jones and Herbie Hancock in the studio, exploring the groundbreaking Fairlight CMI synthesizer. Herbie’s demonstration showcases the brilliance of both the technology and their unmatched creativity.
A true legend remembered.

Unearthed audio of Steve Bannon from 2020: “What Trump is gonna do is declare victory. That doesn’t mean he’s the winner. He’s just gonna say he’s the winner… He’s just gonna say they stole it. Trump is gonna do some crazy shit”

I'm old enough to remember pre-Roe.
I was a kid but I remember signing the cast of a teenage girl in my family that I idolized because she let me play her records and taught me how to ride a skateboard.
Years later, my mother told me she broke it "accidentally" throwing herself down the stairs because she overheard the boy, who violently date-raped her, talking about "doing the right thing" in her living room with her dad.
Luckily, in those days, a D&C for a miscarriage was a routine procedure. So she got off light.
Yeah, we remember. And we're voting AF.

We remember what it was like before Roe. A woman in my dorm in 1968 went to get an abortion and never returned, her parents came for her things. Birth control pills were also not easily available pre Roe.

ProPublica found four women now who've died because of the Supreme Court's Dobbs decision, exposing two central problems with the press: 1. ProPublica found them and not the New York Times 2. Joe Biden's 'garbage' comment can lead the evening news but not these women's deaths
