It’s this. We’re looking for high playtime. There’s a direct correlation between how much time players spend in your game vs how well it’ll sell.

One of the best parts of running the DevGAMM Awards is hearing feedback from 600+ participating teams and 150+ judges. Every year, we review it carefully to make the competition even better.
Last year, one message came through loud and clear: some great games didn't quite fit the existing categories or were overshadowed by larger productions.
So, we've introduced a few new categories for the 2026 DevGAMM Awards:
