If tax evasion were treated w proportionate force as fare evasion is, with cops fracturing kids' arms over $3, the super rich would have their limbs tied to horses galloping in different directions
toronto police fractured a child’s arm and assaulted two others for what they say is suspected fare evasion of which they have provided no evidence of - then charged the children with indictable offenses thestar.com/news/gta/police-…

Okay listen 🇨🇦 The timing is not coincidental
Canada gives Cohere $1.6 BILLION, with a mandate to hire 1,000 roles. A FEW DAYS later, the Canadian government is removing the LMIA Requirement, which means for some roles, like software & tech roles, employers don’t have to look for Canadian talent 🤯
This doesn’t feel good. This needs to be tracked and public info

This is what the beginning of the surveillance state looks like in America
Americans in Connecticut received a bill for additional taxes on their car because cameras spotted it in a different city
A private company called Municipal Tax Service (MTS) is hired by cities to drive around and use automatic license plate readers on cars parked in different cities
It then makes connections if that car lives in that area and sends the owner a bill for new taxes on that vehicle for being in the city
The owner of this vehicle says she doesn’t live in that city, provided proof and says her car was only in a different city because her kid drives there for school
MTS didn’t care and said that the proof didn’t matter and they had to pay it. They appealed to the city, the city said they had to deal with MTS
But here’s the problem, MTS gets paid 38% commission on tax revenue they recover + $50 per vehicle billed to the owner. They made $9 million in commission in just one year from sending people additional tax bills
So this company has no incentive to ever help you and just deny you, which they did
Only after the mainstream media got involved would the city drop this one new tax bill which was false to begin with
In America we now literally have private companies driving around scamming our license plates to tax us more money
This is insanity and it needs to end

‼️NEW: Canada just dropped up to $1.6 billion of taxpayer cash on one of the worst-performing AI labs in the world.
- Cohere’s top model sits at #210 on the LMArena leaderboard...
The compute gap is brutal:
- Cohere: 8,500 GPUs vs xAI who is ramping up to 1.21 MILLION chips.
Cohere’s systems are 50–200× smaller than the frontier labs.
Another flop. Its the Lyon electric of AI.
NO DISRESPECT TO THE BANKING SYSTEM, BUT EXPLAIN THIS LOGIC TO ME.
I’ve paid $2,100 in rent every single month for six years straight.
That’s $151,200 paid on time, directly to shelter, without a single late payment.
My landlord uses my monthly check to pay his bank mortgage on this exact apartment.
Last month, I applied for a mortgage on a starter condo where the total monthly payment principal, interest, taxes, and insurance would be $1,800.
The bank denied my application.
Reason given: "Insufficient income to debt ratio to cover a $1,800 monthly obligation."
I have proven for 72 consecutive months that I can reliably pay $2,100 to keep a roof over my head.
Why does the financial system trust me to pay off someone else’s $2,100 mortgage, but considers me a high risk gamble for my own $1,800 mortgage?
The system isn't measuring risk. It's enforcing a gatekeeping fee.

Both are several terms in and refuse to properly fund support programs for low-income peeps, fail to constrain profiteering on groceries, or ensure food security for the masses. It's eugenics.

Anyone who has used the big Canadian accounting firms know that junior, entry-level accountants cycle through regularly.
Junior, entry-level accountants are generally in the process of preparing to write the CFE and the mandatory 30-month practical work experience term in order to obtain their CPA.
It's mind-boggling that accounting firms are now hiring foreign accountants in a city such as Toronto when many recent Canadian accounting need those jobs to be able to fulfill the requirements for professional designation. This doesn't just rob young Canadian accounting grads of real job opportunities, it also makes it far harder for them to take and pass the qualifying exams they need to become CPAs.
⬇️⬇️⬇️
KPMG is trying to hire 15 foreign accountants in downtown Toronto at $80,000+ each.
In four days, Mark Carney will let corporations hire high wage occupations from abroad without even trying to hire a Canadian first.
Toronto’s unemployment rate is sitting at 7% with youth unemployment at 17%. KPMG should be hiring and training Canadians, not getting a free pass to bypass local workers.

With ongoing RN layoffs in Ontario, we’re seeing situations where ONE nurse is caring for TEN patients in acute care. It should be one nurse to four patients. This is not sustainable for nurses or patients. Nurses are bearing the brunt of these cuts, but patients pay the price too. We need safe staffing, not more pressure on nurses to do more with less. Are we really going to keep watching this happen and do nothing? #onpoli
