Countrycare Team @eppingforestdc were on Roughtalley's Wood at North Weald Bassett today, hosting a children's Christmas Treasure Hunt. We even saw the Epping Ongar train. After solving riddles, everyone got a bag of treats 😁 Merry Christmas to everyone and see you in 2025 😀

Don't discard your #pumpkins in the woods - they can be harmful to wildlife. 🎃 Note: don't bury or compost your pumpkin seeds unless you are prepared to grow pumpkin plants - you can dry your seeds and plant these in the spring and early summer.🌱

💚Making 2024 a good’un: Sunday #slowgardening for biodiversity. Selectively removed Creeping thistle & Comfrey. Deep-cleaned our #WildMarshWest bank repair, diverting 8 bags #plasticpollution from #LeeNavigation & gave our @LeeValleyPark #TottenhamMarshes some TLC #Reciprocity

Tree diseases can spread via the sawdust on your chainsaw. Make sure you clean your chainsaw thoroughly between each site visit. If you have, or suspect, a harmful tree pest or disease in your woodland, clean your chainsaw between each tree that you work on. 📷 Alison Whaley

Last Thursday, the #Volunteers @eppingforestdc were at Thornwood Common Nature Area #NorthWeald. They were raking the meadow, cutting bramble out the hedge, replacing broken sign legs, and removing and replacing the bench. Highlight was the Wasp #Spider 🕷️😁
