Botman needs to come out of this team immediately. Honking. A liability. #NUFC
It’s a bad day at the office from a young team yet to gel. #NUFC Twitter is so reactionary - after the Spurs game there were Champions League shouts. We’ll bounce back.
Botman needs dropping. Doesn’t look arsed and hasn’t for ages. Miles off it #NUFC
You… you stand up to shake someone’s hand… don’t you? #NUFC

He left, not sacked, so the club don’t have to pay him. Even until his last day, he had nufc at the forefront of his decision. I love the bloke. I always will. Thank you Eddie Howe.

Thank you, Eddie. For all of it.
I need to say something first. I've spent most of this summer writing about Eddie Howe's mistakes on this account. The dropped points, the stagnation, the drift. I stand by every word. And none of it changes what I'm about to say.
If some of you weren't paying attention in November 2021, or maybe you've just let yourself forget, we were 19th. Winless in NOVEMBER. The squad was Shelvey, Hayden and Hendrick, the ambition was 17th place, said out loud, by the people running the club, as a target. Newcastle United wasn't a football club then. It was a hostage situation with a season ticket scheme.
And this quiet, decent man from Bournemouth walked into all of that and gave us our club back.
The great escape, from bottom at Christmas. Then fourth, and Champions League nights at St James' that some of us had waited our whole lives for. Then Wembley. Seventy years, man. SEVENTY. Grown men who'd buried fathers who never saw us lift anything, stood there crying at the sight of it. Eddie Howe did that. Whatever else is ever said about him, and I've said plenty, that belongs to him forever.
And he did it all without ever once embarrassing us. No mind games, no ego, no blaming the ref, no leaked briefings. Every press conference, win or lose, the same decent fella taking responsibility for everything. In modern football that's practically a superpower.
It ended how these things end. The team went stale, the results turned, the club sold his best players around him, and by all accounts he walked rather than waited to be pushed. Honestly? Both things were probably right. It was time, AND it hurts. That's how it goes with the ones who mattered.
Five years ago they gave us a club back and Eddie Howe made it feel like ours again. Whoever walks in next inherits a training ground, a trophy in the cabinet and a fanbase that believes things are possible. Every bit of that is his legacy.
Thank you Eddie. Forever a legend on Tyneside. 🖤🤍

The positives:
Steur looks comfortable. Elanga bright.
That’s about it. I know it’s about fitness tonight but it was seriously poor - we look very lightweight. Lots of the big-hitters to come back. #NUFC – at Bristol, England
Burn and Osula aside, who likely don’t get into our strongest XI anyway, Eddie has everyone available to him today. Home game. Palace in poor form. Can’t be any excuses today surely? No reason not to go for it. #NUFC
Wow - that is one of the most obvious penalties I’ve seen…?! #NUFC

If you must know, I was going to a chemist with my daughter-in-law, to get some medicine for her unwell husband….my son. Hatred is a dreadful weakness.
What you up to here @GaryLineker ? 👀

The video shows a fan encountering Gary Lineker while he was walking with his daughter-in-law, Bella Lineker, during a family holiday in Mexico. They were heading to a pharmacy for medicine for his son.

I also think there’s a whole host of journos, even #NUFC reporters, who have let themselves down this summer in search of clicks. Nobody had a sniff of the Ramsdale and Ramsey deals until late in the day - shows that none of them really know what’s going on behind closed doors.
