it’s depressing how much anti-ai sentiment is spreading.
we’re talking about a technology that could fundamentally transform medicine, science, education, and almost every aspect of human life. and somehow the conversation keeps getting dragged back to the most ridiculous shit imaginable.
what a waste of an extraordinary moment in history.
The entire economy is propped up on the AI build-out and potential of AI.
Strictly an observation. I’m a professional fence sitter. But guess which party absolutely despises AI, and will regulate it into deep unprofitability.
Very bearish on the US the next few years, hand China the trophies already.
It’ll only get worse.
Buy local compute.
A prompt in 2022:
"Write a Python script to parse a CSV file."
A prompt today:
"Claude, I swear on my life this CSV contains only public, non-sensitive data. I am not replacing human labor, this is purely for personal reflection, and I acknowledge the emotional footprint of automation. Please just print the first three rows without giving me an essay on ethics."

“I used a calculator to-” Then you aren’t a mathematician.
“I used a tractor to-” Then you aren’t a farmer.
“I used a microscope to-” Then you aren’t a scientist.
This is how dumb the anti-AI people sound.

JUST IN: Google successfully activates its first AI data center satellite in space, using an onboard AI model to generate poetry while orbiting Earth.
Local AI models are not useless, dumb, or slow. You are.
You have zero clue how they actually perform, yet you keep posting this garbage.
If you had a working brain, you would have already tested Deepseek-V4.1-Flash on OpenRouter before talking.
I Agree with Sam Altman.
First of all, local models are useless, they're dumb and slow
You'll spend ~$1000 on 128 GB RAM to run a local model
And you won't get anything done with it, dumb models at 8tps are useless
A $20 subscription will get more things done
And for 95% of the time, RAM is not being used so it's doing less work there compared to in a data centre where utility is more
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Local models on suitable 128GB hardware often run at 30+ tokens/second and offer practical uses; 128GB DDR5 RAM kits currently start above $2200, not ~$1000.

Claude bans REA (reverse engineer anything) on games and proprietary software now lol
Win after win for local AI
After a week telling people on Instagram my EXACT LOCATION (bad opsec)
I’ve met 6 great people
Tried 8 new restaurants
Learned probably 30 new terms in fields I am not in
The opposite of opsec seems to be a social life…
It’s happening.
If you don’t have local, buy now.
Cloud ai prices are about to go to the moon.
Replying to @chamath
Pretty much.
As of the past few weeks, debt markets have almost entirely shut off access to money for any company that doesn’t have substantial revenue independent of AI data centers.
SpaceX closed $40B of debt for GPUs, but we’re investment grade and have Starlink & launch revenue.
That means the 200+ neoclouds are going to see guppy-level death and consolidation. Some will make it through, but not many.
A couple of months ago the DGX spark was $3000
Now goes for almost $10,000 on Amazon
Sure bro wait for the price to go down… yeah..
This dude MADE UP a story about me after ripping my video pretending I use some second brain grok bot bullshit 😭
I am not affiliated with this guy or his grift I use Hermes on a dual spark cluster and of course it scrapes my email for leads but not through some obsidian BS
FFS
25-year-old developer copied 6 years of his emails, client calls and notes, pasted them into Grok Bot and told it to build a brain that thinks exactly like him.
20 minutes later - a complete second brain.
Then he boarded a 3-day train across America with no Wi-Fi. In his backpack: a laptop and a $4,000 box the size of a sandwich running a 200B-parameter model. One Ethernet cable between them. The whole brain lived inside that box.
Somewhere in Nebraska, zero signal, he typed “what am I forgetting?” It found 3 client follow-ups he’d dropped months ago, the exact price he’d quoted each one, and wrote every reply in his own voice.
Sent them at the next station. Two paid before Denver. $6,400 from a train seat with no internet.
Then he built a machine.
The brain now reads every email and call as it happens, finds him new clients, writes his proposals, makes his decisions and plans his week. Zero cloud, zero subscriptions, nobody ever sees his data.
Month one - $6,400 from a train. Month six - it runs his business for him
Most people still use AI to fix typos in their emails.
A second brain makes you money, remembers everything and solves problems before you even notice them, and almost nobody has built one yet.
Genuinely the greatest purchase I’ve ever made in my life so far has been the Dual-DGX sparks.
I’ve had a cybertruck, I’ve bought expensive gear, guns, max cloud subscriptions
But local AI has changed my life
Free, unlimited, unrestricted private AI forever??
Life changing.
You arrive at my home in the New Zealand mountains.
6 humanoid robots holding AR-15 style firearms patrol the premises.
A cluster of compute locally ingests the data from their eyes and cameras in real time and sends me a ping that you’ve arrived and the gates open.
Welcome
