Today, our palliative care team met a man in a shelter who was called "non-compliant" because he wasn't taking his meds.
We developed trust & learned: He didn't know how to read…so he couldn't read the labels on his pill bottles.
When we listen more, we can care better. 🙏🏾

Sunrise on the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, @LacSeulFN Today is a day to listen to survivors, to honour the children lost, found and those we seek. Be gentle, kind, it is an emotional day. Above all, think what you can do to bring change. #EveryChildMatters

Indigenous people need justice for the crimes that were committed at residential schools. We can't close our eyes and say “this is something that happened a long time ago.” The perpetrators of residential school crimes need to be charged, says our CEO, @groulx_lynne.

This mural was made by 15 year old Yumna Afzaal. Her star was stolen by hate but the spirit of her inspiring words cannot be denied. It should be shared & never forgotten. This is what every Canadian should aspire to #OurLondonFamily

Joyce Echaquan, a Atikamekw 37 year old mom of 7, filmed herself dying as health workers hurled racist insults at her.
An inquest has shown she died of heart failure & was wrongly diagnosed with opioid withdrawal.
Don’t tell me racism doesn’t exist in healthcare!
RIP Joyce 💔

You were found in unmarked graves
Acts of genocide
Your precious lives taken
With spirits so strong
we heard your cries
To go home
Rest well little ones
And fly high with our ancestors
We will not forget you
You are sacred
